Product Description

Discover the healing powers of friendship when you meet Perry, Jonah and Kristen: Three Army wives surviving their husbands' tour of Iraq.

Perry leaves her small Oklahoma town and boards a plane to Italy, but soon after she arrives, war begins and her husband is deployed. For the first time in her life, she finds herself alone in her empty apartment with the Bible in her right hand and Daddy's Life Manual in the other.

Jonah is a walking ER bill, but even when her bones aren't broken, her heart is. She believes that her problems stem from the ill-will of others, including God, but when Perry, an over-eager friendaholic befriends her, she is forced to face her past and view life differently.

Kristen has never had a 'Lucy and Ethel' friendship because others could not see past her beauty, but when she must give birth inside an Italian hospital, and bare it all to practical strangers, her perfectionist shell begins to crack. It is only with her first sense of friendship that she realizes, Yes, it is all right to use paper plates for dinner.

They would have never met had they not been Army wives and together, they discover what is missing in their lives.

Editorial Reviews

Review
"Let me start by saying this...I have always been a big supporter of our military, but after reading this book, I am going to continually look for ways to give more support. In Chrisy Krueger's novel, Vino in Vo, she tells a story of three women, all incredibly different, but bound by the fact their husbands have been sent to Iraq (and a love for brownies). Vino in Vo will touch your heart in so many ways.

You will laugh at Perry, roll your eyes at Jonah, and want Kristen to clean your house while you bounce Nicolas on your knee. The unlikely friendship which comes out of the deployment of their husbands is what helped them survive Iraq, in Italy. Stationed in Vicenza, near Venice, the friends explore Italy, drink wine, share stories, and help each other through the difficult times.

I highly recommend this story to anyone and everyone. And I am even more thankful for the sacrifices made by our military families now after reading it. Buy it. Don't go to the library for this one." --Valerie, a review posted on Goodreads.com

This book is about so much more than Army wives and the Iraq War. It's about self-exploration and loving the person you really are. It tackles love and loss on so many levels. Vino in Vo is one book that I'll think about long after I've finished reading it. --Jen, a review posted on Goodreads.com

perfect5
I think that Chrisy Krueger wrote this book so captivity and beautifully that we have purchased three so far. My husbands in the 173rd, and I bought this book for myself, and I loved every page. It draws the perfect picture of how things really go when your a military spouse trying to make sense of it all - when you find yourself in a far away country when your spouse has been abruptly called to duty, so if you are curious about the army and how it is to be a military spouse or if you just want to read an awesome story of an unlikely friendship brought together by the craziness of a war and much much more I would highly suggest this book!! Its not that expensive and you will definitely be getting more than your moneys worth for it:) It's the perfect book to give to other military wife friends', so that when you must part ways they they will always remember your friendship through that book if not anything else.
