Customer Reviews
Sturdy, easy to setup, and fairly comfortable
This is my review ported over from the regular design Queen aerobed with headrest that I wrote in mid-July
Aerobed Raised Queen Bed with Pillow Support. Honestly, if you use sheets, the floral pattern shouldn't really matter:
My impression of this bed is pretty good owing to it's sturdy build quality and ease of setup. I left the bed outside for awhile after the first unpacking to help get rid of the new plastic smell. The only extra thing you need to set it up besides ample space is an electrical outlet.
The pump is built into the side of the bed itself with an easy to dial control (inflate, off, deflate) to adjust the hardness of the bed, as well as a larger deflation valve (basically a large capped hole) when you are ready to put it away. The pump has a resettable fuse with shut off to protect the pump from engaging longer than 10 minutes (should take ~4 minutes to fill according to the instructions). I suppose if the pump fails or the bed springs an unrepairable leak, then the whole thing is a lost cause, instead of being able to salvage just the bed or pump individually.
The bed itself is comfortable. The surface is frictionized to help keep the sheets from sliding all over and the headrest helps keep the pillow from falling off the top. It comes with a storage bag with shoulder strap, and it actually fits in there, though the small built in pump prevents you from totally rolling it up flat. The bag's shoulder strap is handy since it is a relatively heavy item, at least ~30-35 lbs.
It's great to spring the bed out for guests in our cool basement. Initially, my son had fun jumping around on it (highly discourage that for many obvious reasons...).
Great bed
Got this on a Friday sale at Amazon. Inflated it right away just to check for leaks, and was I very pleased (no leaks!). It inflates quickly and easily with the built in pump...only takes about three mintues or so. It also DEFLATES quickly with the use of the same pump....it sucks all of the air out of the bed, also in a matter of minutes. Remember how much time it can take to deflate one of these things when you are packing up from a camping trip? This solves that, but of course you will need access to electricity for this feature to work.
It comes with a packing/carry case that looks really thin and flimsy, so I am not sure how long it might last. It is a very thin bag holding a very heavy bed, so at minimum I don't think the attached straps will stay on very long with a lot of use. The carry case is a nice size, though...I had no trouble at all in fitting the rolled up bed into it when putting it away. The material of the bed itself is fairly thick and appears to be very durable. Lastly, don't let the description of it having a "Floral Design" put you off. It is a very light grey color and you really don't even notice any design on it at all. We will be taking it to a camp site in a couple of months...if anything changes in regard to my opinion after that I will update the review.
wooosh
This Aerobed is amazingly easy to inflate and very comfortable to sleep one. The indent around the mattress could be deeper so the fitted sheets tuck in better.
But for the money a terrific bed!
