PODS do not fit every type of Aerogarden!!5
EVERYBODY!!

When you get replacement seed pods, the ones made for a 6-pod unit do not fit in the 7-pod Classic.

So you will end up modifying them or buying rock wool, or grow sponges, and removing the seed.

I know it says what type Aerogarden they go with right in the title, but who knew they'd make the pods so many different sizes?

So watch which Aerogarden the seed pods are made for.

The garden itself is great, if you can keep your cats from eating it all!

Does not fit a Classic 7-Pod Garden4
The product description says that 'this fits all 6-Pod Gardens'.
The pods do NOT fit a Classic 7-Pod Garden as the pods are too long to sit in the garden properly. I had thought that I would be able to use these 6 pods with a pod from another set but the number of pods is not the issue. It is my mistake (which is why I have not rated it 1-star) but why design pods and gardens that are not compatible across the range??

I'm hoping that other 7-Pod Garden owners will not waste their money.

At the time of writing I can't find any 7-pod seed kits on Amazon but you can get them on the aerogarden website for the same price ($19.95) so I'll be going there for the time being.

Descendant of Jack's Bean Stalk2
The beans sprouted and grew, and grew, and grew. Unfortunately, the arm of the grow lamp does not extend high enough to accommodate the rapidly growing plants and before I knew it, the flower buds and top leaves were burned by the heat of the bulbs. I tried keeping the tops cut down to encourage growth below, but within two or three days, they would be right back at the top of the lamp, and there would be a multitude of dried flower buds all over the floor. I finally threw in the towel and threw them out since its now to cold to transplant them outdoors.

The kit comes with some type of flexible wires that are supposed to support the beans, but they don't work that well because it's difficult to anchor them securely inside the grow sponges, and the plants aren't actually attached to the wires, they just sort of sit in the middle of them. In addition to that, the supports aren't long enough to be of any real use. I resorted to staking mine with long bamboo skewers and velcro plant strips.

I had planted green beans before using my own seeds and Gro Sponges. They didn't grow as tall as the ones in this kit, but they produced a steady crop of beans. My husband bought this seed kit for me not remembering that I was using my own seeds and supplies, so I used it rather than have him return it.

This kit would be better suited for the Aerogarden that has the gro lamp that extends to twice the length of the standard Aerogarden, and after my experience with it, I wouldn't recommend it for standard Aerogarden users.
