Any experienced sewer knows that there's a lot more to the craft than a needle and thread. Each task necessitates specific equipment to accommodate the specific garment, be it the right shade of thread, size, color, and style of button, or type of fastener. Stick or safety pins may be required to hold a hem in place. Different fabrics demand different sizes of needles. A sewer often accumulates the tools of the trade over many years. After collecting this array of knick-knacks, organized storage presents another dilemma. For such a conundrum, Smart Kit offers their Classic Sewing Basket. Gracefully adorned, the basket provides a home for the minutiae of sewing and comes equipped with all the basic accessories to get a project started.

For lugging around the house or beyond, Smart Kit attaches a sturdy carrying handle to the basket's exterior. A Velcro fastener holds the basket lid closed. Resting on the rim inside the basket, a removable plastic tray provides expansive storage for miscellaneous spools, measuring tape, thimbles and more. It is not a five star product anymore
I received the sewing kit to give to my future daughter-in-law. I was appalled at the quality of the product. The plastic tray is extremely "flimsy" and would not last at all. The "notions" that are included are of particulary poor quality. The tracing wheel would not last long enough to trace one pattern. The scissors are not sewing scissors, but are cheap craft scissors. The thread is not mercerized and would shrink when washed. As one person who saw it said "No corner was left uncut." I would not recommend that anyone buy this, especially if you were using it as a prize or a promotional device. Currently, I am disturbed by their return policy, which seems to be "customer unfriendly."

I Agree with 'Save You Money'
I read the review that was titled 'save your money' and I wasn't looking for some professional quality thing here...just something for my wife to put her sewing 'stuff' in - so I ignored it. When I received this, I instantly regretted not listening to the 'save your money' review. I am no sewing box expert - but this box is really cheaply made. There are many other options on-line for the same money and much better quality.

Very cheesy!
I purchased the sewing kit to go with my new sewing machine that I received for Christmas. The velcro for the closure was unattached as well as the closure being held on by one strand of thread. The workmanship on this item is "shoddy" at best. The removable tray was bent out of shape and I don't foresee it being worth much. If you return the item, it appears that you lose your original shipping cost as well as paying to return the item. I do not recommend that anyone waste their money on this item; no matter how good the picture looks.
