Product Description

In Thai recipes as well as recipes throughout Southeast Asia, palm sugar is used as a natural sweetener. Our palm sugar is the best you can find anywhere, as we import from a premium producer in western Thailand, where the natural sap is collected from cut sugar palms and boiled until a nice sticky sugar remains. The natural sugar is poured directly into little cakes and packaged for easy use (see photos). It can be also eaten as candy. Consistency is firm but slightly soft, making it more simple to use than the inferior rock hard palm sugar some are selling. You get 8 small cakes, simply shave off what you need with a knife, and it dissolves nicely in the cooking process. Use with curries, gourmet dishes, sauces, and various desserts. Product of Thailand. Ingredients: 97% pure palm sugar, 3% refined malt sugar.

Customer Reviews

Ingredients as listed on package2
Depends on what you are looking for ... Here are the actual ingredients listed on the package: "Liquid from coconut blossm [blossom], crystal white sugar, malt sugar."

This is not pure palm sugar1
This product is not pure palm sugar and consumers need to be aware of this. Amazon.com should be required to list the ingredients of all their food products, otherwise consumers don't know what they are truly buying. This Thai Palm Sugar is mixed with white cane sugar and for consumers looking for a pure palm sugar, this product is very deceiving in it's name. There is another palm sugar sold on Amazon.com that is pure, which i suggest for consumers who want an unadulterated palm sugar.

superiour to the other brand of palm sugar being sold here4
after having tried both this and the small rounds of palm sugar sold by another company on amazon, I find this the superiour product. Although it occasionally has small hollow cavities within due to it's design, it is of better quality, both in flavor, texture and use. The flavor is richer, the texture has a slight creamyness to it, and it dissolves much more thoroughly.
