Our medical system is both corrupt, and nuts for ignoring three quarters of the solution: lifestyle, environment, and natural or alternative cures.

This is an exciting book, in part because Amazon now has Scanback and can receive a bar code from a cell phone photo, and come back not just with alternative price information, but with HEALTH information in the case of food, and with "true cost" information in the case of everything (water content, fuel content, sweatshop labor hours, tax avoidance score).

The neat thing about moving to localized agriculture and food production (processing) is that it elimiates both the carbon footprint and the need for preservative chemicals, while also making each community more resilient. I dream of the day when we tear up strip malls, use the cement as landfill, and restore farms around every city, every town.

Focusing on the community as well as the household is a very sane way to make it easier for individuals to be healthy "in community" with one another.

Real patriots understand that the uninsured are a walking plague waiting to infect the rest of us. If we do not have universal health insurance, we are sentencing our community to a slow death over time.

Nation-wide health will not happen without a deliberate strategic push. I think of Education, not Marketing, as the key, and the use of cell phones for point of sale education could be revolutionary in changing buying habits. Also Green certifications for specific outlets.

Always ask yourself: is AIDS something that cannot be treated, or is AIDS something that Henry Kissinger believes is a perfect tool for eugenics?

History helps. Our elites have forgotten the hard-earned successes of the elites in NYC in the 1920's.
