Product Description

Photography and introduction by Guy Oseary

Every time I do a show, I die a little bit, but no shit is worth doing unless you¹re willing to die for it. --Madonna

Madonna Confessions is the first official, inside book on the most famous woman in the world since the 1992 release of the landmark monograph Sex.

With over 250 never-before-seen images taken by Guy Oseary and personally approved by Madonna, the photographs featured here showcase the provocative themes of her live performances -- from equestrian to urban Bedouin, and from glam punk to disco fever -- and celebrates what The New York Times called "the sheer spectacularity of her physical form." Enhanced with Madonna's short, sassy interspersed quotes, Confessions is a matchless, must-have record of one of the highlights of her career.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly
Maverick Records CEO Oseary presents this collection of photographs he took of client Madonna on her 2006 Confessions tour. He admits in the introduction that he was an amateur who was using an unfamiliar camera. At times it shows, but the mostly large-format, single-page shots and collages feature Madonna gyrating or playing her shiny black guitar—complete with stage pyrotechnics and the backstage action, as well as audience reaction throughout. In the end, Oseary nicely captures the feel of the tour. Fun highlights include a section on Madonna's disco set and white, Saturday Night Fever–inspired costume, entitled Music Inferno. Proceeds from the book go to Michael Berg and Madonna's charity, Raising Malawi, which brings relief to the large orphan population in Malawi. (Oct.)

The Confessions Tour In AMAZING Pictures5
When I went to Madonna's 2006 Tour "The Confessions Tour" I had no idea what to expect. I had heard mixed reviews of the tour but I knew that Madonna would not disappoint her fans (she never does).
From the beginning to the end the show was spectacular. The show was mostly comprised of songs from Madonna's 2005 album "Confessions on a Dancefloor," but, you still heard some old favorites like: "Like a Virgin," "Live to Tell," "Ray of Light," "Drowned World/Substitute For Love," "Music," "Erotica," "La Isla Bonita," and "Lucky Star." As Madonna has done for each of her tours each section presented a different element; the 1st one contained Madonna in a jockey outfit even going so far as to ride on one of the dancers & doing stripper moves on a moving merry-go-round. The 2nd section brought some spirituality to the show w/ the controversial performance of "Live to Tell," in which Madonna was on a 3-D Cross (awesome). The 3rd section saw Madonna rocking out on her guitar w/ "I Love NY," & "Ray of Light," & going on a rampage on "Let it Will Be." In the final section Madonna brings us back 2 the 70's w/ remixed disco versions of her songs "Music," (which sounded a lot like "Disco Inferno")"Erotica,"(this version was better than the original version), "La Isla Bonita," "Lucky Star," and finally her hit song "Hung-Up," which ended w/ Madonna asking the audience "Have You Confessed?"

Now I know Most of U R reading this and asking "when is he going to talk about the book?" well the book was photographed by Guy Oseary (a long time BFF 2 Madonna) and the book is comprised of photos that he took of Madonna on her "Confessions Tour," each song has a different photo and as somebody who appreciates photography I must say he did a phenominal job. Madonna has never looked so great on Tour. If you R a big fan of The Queen of Pop & LOOOVED the "Confessions Tour," I strongly recommend you get this book.

Oh, and if you buy this book your money will go 2 Madonna's Raising Malawi Foundation. So, your money will be going to help a great cause.

I also recommend you get "Madonna; The Confessions Tour," Live CD/DVD and watch "The Confessions Tour."

Great Book, I miss the Confessions era...4
This is a very good book, most of the photos seem to have been taken by a professional photographer, I have no complaints. However I do think that the photo we see in the cover should`ve been printed in hard cover. Don`t get me wrong, the book has a hard cover, but it`s got a paper cover over the hard cover, which is the photo we see. I have the feeling it`ll be easily damaged with time.

I`ve published some photos taken by me, if you wanna see them, just look at the customer images above.

The Confessions Tour up Close and Personal3
Guy Oseary is the CEO of Maverick Records, Madonna's record label, and not a professional photographer. Yet, he took it upon himself to photo-document Madonna's 2006 Confessions Tour and did a tolerably good job. The book is all photos, with the occasional quote from Madonna overlaid on the picture. The pictures are mostly full-page and close to the action, giving the viewer a feel for the concert energy and productions. While the book is not organized in a sequential format, it focuses on each song, showing different views from the different performances around the world. Each page is labeled with a mostly transparent font, with the date and location of the show it was taken at, but often the text blends in with the background so much as to be unreadable. Proceeds from the book help benefit Madonna's Raising Malawi Foundation, benefiting orphans in Malawi.
