Customer Reviews
Well Worth the Investment!
Written by a psychologist who's "been there and done that" at a very high level, Dr. Mart's book offers invaluable instruction and advice to the practicing psychologist who wishes to expand his or her practice into the area of forensic psychology. The book can be referenced time and time again and thereby serve as a "mentor in print" so to speak, in that it provides instruction from the beginning steps of differentiating forensic psychology from clinical psychology, through building a forensic practice and generating referrals, all the way to doing depositions and taking the witness stand in an informed and effective manner. Very highly recommended.
An essential read for those contemplating forensic private practice
This is a book I wish I had when I started private practice. It provides a great orientation to the key issues relevant to establishing a successful practice, and also offers a lot for those already working in the area.
Practical and broad
A very practical book geared toward the business side of running a forensic psychology practice. Dr. Mart gets down to the little details that others overlook - even reminding us to use the bathroom before getting on the witness stand (he quotes the Duke of Wellington's advice to soldiers going into battle: "Make water whenever you can"). I highly recommend it.
