Editorial Reviews

Review
"Although there is a wealth of literature about KM, few textbooks are available. As a rule, even where textbooks exist, I do not generally review them. However, I am making an exception in the case of Dr. Kimiz Dalkir's new textbook because of its exceptional quality, comprehensive scope, and potential usefulness for both practitioners and academics." "Knowledge Management in Theory and Practice is an important and highly valuable book that gives both theoretical and practical insights from broad multidisciplinary perspectives. Kimiz Dalkir displays a deep and eclectic understanding of knowledge and the business reasons and approaches to its management. The book's many references present opportunities for further exploration. Multiple illustrations from practices in well-known organizations provide readers with great understanding. The book should be on every practitioner's bookshelf - and in their heads as well."
Karl M. Wiig, Chairman, Knowledge Research Institute, Inc.

"Dr. Dalkir has provided a rich foundation in the theory behind knowledge management (KM) and draws in an engaging learner dialogue that demonstrates how theory can be practically engaged in the dynamic environments of KM-based institutions, businesses, and governments. Dalkir is an exemplary author who draws together numerous practical and theoretical frameworks. Knowledge Management in Theory and Practice contains rich material with which I can effectively teach KM as well as fertile substance for my academic research agenda. I highly recommend this book because it will prove useful to academics as well as practitioners."

A great new way of thinking!5
This book will give you a functional view of what knowledge management is and how to implement its processes in your company or organization. It's written very well and not a boring read. It has a lot of interesting new ways to think about how to change corporate or organizational culture in order to effectively compete in a global business climate. This book can be useful for people that work in a business with four employees or a business with thousands.
