Customer Reviews
If you like an eclectic mix of dance music, you'll love it!
I heard this CD playing in an out-of-the-way bookstore in New York City and just HAD to have it. As luck would be, the CD that they were playing at that moment was their last copy. I snatched it up, took it home with me, and haven't stopped listening to it since.
As I said in the title, if you like eclectic, danceable music, this CD is for you! "Showgirls and Sugardaddies" isn't traditional "dance" music in the sense of a "boomboomboomboom" pounding beat. The only way to describe this CD is... well... Think 1960's glam/chic, sipping martinis dance music. Trippy, jazzy... Very gay--flamboyant and fun. Very European, never boring--like I said, it just defies explanation!
The case to my copy is laying around somewhere; I don't know the name of half the songs--this CD is so good, you won't need to skip around--I pop it in and listen to it straight through. If I do skip to one song, it's the ninth track: "Glamour Pussy," by a now defunct band named Hipkiss who, if the rest of their music was as good as this song, I wish had done even more!
Bottom line: love it, love it, love it. If you're looking for interesting music for a get-together or just something fun to blast and groove to as you're driving around town, this CD is it!
