Found my way to Heather's wonderful music from the most...
...unlikely source. The TV show "Charmed" in one of the episodes, Heather was singing "Like Lovers Do" and I was hooked. Took me half an hour to find her name, let alone where to get Like Lovers Do, but after downloading the some from iTunes, I knew I had to hear more.
I now own all but one or two of her discs. Her voice is marvelous and entrancing to say the least, and her lyrics will speak to your soul. You cannot go wrong with "South" it is well worth it!
Another Outstanding Release.
Heather Nova has a wonderful sense of how to craft a song, and this CD is full of memorable tunes. My current favorite is "Like Lovers Do", which is dazzling simple in concept but powerful in delivery. But this is not the only one; the disc is full of outstanding songs. Nobody creates moving songs like Heather Nova and South is right up there with her very best efforts.
Like Lovers Do
Of all her albums, I could say this is the one that is probably more pop-radio-oriented... i know it's kinda like a bad thing for some but hey it never hurts to try... looks like Heather gets the same treatment with what Liz Phair decided to do with her career
anywayz, the best track here is definitely LIKE LOVERS DO... reminiscent of Heart And Shoulder... LIKE LOVERS DO is definitely one of the most amazing song I have ever heard. another favorite of mine is Virus Of The Mind... like it like it like it :)
