Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com essential recording
Most critics complain Back in Black, the album AC/DC recorded after the death of their original lead screamer Bon Scott, is ridiculously juvenile, obvious, snickering, bludgeoning, derivative, single-minded about sex and booze, a big cartoon. All true, of course, and--on rock 'n' ragers like "What Do You Do For Money Honey," "You Shook Me All Night Long," and the title track--all great. As Scott's replacement Brian Johnson reminds us, loud and crunchy, no-holds-barred "rock and roll ain't noise pollution...it makes good, good sense." Never trust anyone who refuses to drink domestic beer, laugh at the Three Stooges, or crank Back in Black. --David Cantwell
Customer Reviews
Back In Black
What can be said about the greatest rock album ever?AC/DC were at their best on this album.
Kids Love It
My kids heard the song "back in black" when they watched the movie "Iron Man" and they asked me whose song it was. This was my chance to introduce them to classic rock so I bought them this CD. They love it. Now they want to borrow the rest of my CD's.
Contains Two All-Time Rock Classics
The title track and "You Shook Me All Night Long" alone justify the price. Even non-fans gotta play air guitar to the first 30 seconds of Back in Black, and the lyrics on "You Shook Me All Night Long" are classic... "Workin' double time on the seduction line, she was one of a kind, she's just mine all mine.... had to cool me down to take another round, now I'm back in the ring to take another swing..." For what many consider to be "hard core" they actually make good, good music that's easy to listen to.
