My first album with a truly depressed optimist. I believe Nelly Furtado was the second. See "Te Busque" (2006). Heaven, My Place, Complain and Boogie 2Nite uplift, while the intro and Drunk make you sink low, into a comfortably-numb feeling. One of the first CDs I ever ordered. It was BMG-style. Ashanti, Filter and and others accompanied. 4.3(+) stars.

Just short of amazing. Daughters is great, Bigger Than My Body, inspiring and uplifting and Come Back To Bed slow and sultry. 4.3 stars.

Brandon Boyd's a total hottie W/ a unique voice for rock. This was the first CD by Incubus that I owned. Heavy guitar riffs for pop music and interesting lyrics. 4 stars.

Dark, miserly, complicated and complex. But strangely, there's still a glimpse of hope left for her.. 4.5 stars.

My favorite artist by far. Beyond what I can say, in words. Mariah has been one of the most melancholic optimists I've ever heard. I may stick to mainstream, but she had something BIG, pre-Charmbracelet era. 5 stars and beyond!

Robin Thicke has a gift and has some decent singer-songwriting skills. 4.2 stars.

Not a big country fan but this hits the spot! Amazing standouts are I Know You Won't, You Won't Find This, the production on Let's Get Out Of This Town, Last Name & Twisted. 4.2(+) stars.

A very strong, uplifting and women-empowering release. 4.5 stars.

KILLER PRODUCTION!!!! Beats of 2006 award, where are you? Te Busque, Promiscuous, Showtime, In God's Hands and Wait For You will throw your for loops! 4.1(+) stars.

This is actually my favorite from my favorite band (so far). It's darker, a bit more complex and contains some eclectic production and the writing is almost as great as what Morning View showed. 4.5(+) stars.

Wow. This record is amazing. It also contains more angst than the first here. 4.5(+) stars.

Cute as all get out and a decent pop debut. His much more rock-oriented (and better in spades) second effort came in 2 years. 3.6 stars.

Sexy vocals. Soulful, bluesy rock. They won't EVER make another album that's as gold as this. This Love, She Will Be Loved, Tangled, Rag Doll (Import Version), Through With You, Not Coming Home and Secret are ALL great standouts! 4.4(+) stars.

Pop-Rock music at its most catchy and infectiousness. Sure, the voice needs a LOTTA work but she writes guilty pleasures. Should've been album of the year back in '04. 4.4 (4.45 for the Japanese import) stars.

So mellow, you won't know what to do with yourself. May take a few listens to love as much as I. Took me a while to actually hear what they were saying. All the songs blended b4. 4.5 stars.

This CD is very moving. Considering the state of real rock music, or even pop-rock these days, this is a breath of fresh air from my POV. A few ballads but mostly mid-tempos. And while Jon Foreman doesn't have the greatest range, his voice is unique, and not trying to be trendy. Highlights are Dare You To Move, On Fire, More Than Fine and Meant To Live (in order). 4.2(+) stars.

Same as the original, with 4 new songs. Say Something, One And Only, Fly Like A Bird, Don't Forget About Us and Makin' It Last All Night (What It Do). 4.4 stars.

The CD that truly got me into country-pop. Especially females. Sure, Shania introduced me and got me slightly interested, but this was the first one that I owned. Many of the songs were boring/too country for me which shows I'm still not a fan of country. Anyway, standouts R Some Hearts, Jesus Take The Wheel, Lessons Learned, I Ain't In Checotah Anymore...and Inside Your Heaven. 3.7 stars.

Disc2 is pointless2me; all spanish; repetitive. 1st disc has all of what the 1st B'day had & added: flaws and all - beautiful ballad about knowing the negatives to yourself. still in love (kissing u) - des'ree's song; more passion. world wide woman - bonus track that grows on u. 3.75 stars.
