A collection of just some of Garth's best songs, plus 4 new tunes including the excellent traditional Country number "Midnight Sun". Even if you have all of his previous albums, it is still worth the money just for the dvd which contains music videos for all but 1 of the 34 songs.

It might leave out so many of her good songs, but she has too many to fit on any one "Best Of" package. One of the best female artists in any genre.

Another essential item for any Country fans collection. Apart from one mis-step in having the 1990's recording of "A Good Year For The Roses" where George dueted with Alan Jackson instead of the original track, this is a pretty good summary of his music from 1955 to 2005. Also look out for his two latest albums, "Hit's I Missed And One I Didn't", and "Kickin' Out The Footlights Again".

He may at times blur the lines between Country and Pop, but there's no denying that Kenny Rogers is just GREAT. This neat little collection includes tracks from his early years with the Bobby Doyle Trio and the First Edition. Nice selection of his work up to 1999.

Johnny Cash. 'Nuff said.

This along with "Taking The Long Way" shows just how damn good the Dixie Chicks are. If you can get the "Shut Up And Sing" dvd as well.

One of the very best songwriters ever.

She may have strayed into Pop for a while, but at least she admitted she was making Pop music. Definately at her best though when belting out great Country tunes.

Carrie can sing anything (much to the annoyance of many), from fantastic performances of "The Sound Of Music" through to The Eagles' "Desperado", but Country is her thing and that's where she's staying. Only Alison Krauss can beat her out for pure vocal perfection.

Another essential classic Country artist.

The only serious competition for Brooks & Dunn. These guys are just fun, the music is rockin and with their mottos "Love Everybody" and "Music without prejudice" should be a welcome presenece in Country music today.

Kenny Chesney worked hard for 12 years before winning his first CMA award and breaking through to superstardom. Hitting the big time never changed him though and he's stayed Country right up to his latest release "Just Who I Am - Poets & Pirates" which sees him duet with his hero George Strait.

One of the best guitar players ever. His singing isn't as bad as it's made out to be.

The fourth "Highwayman" alongside Cash, Nelson & Krisofferson. If you've got those three, you need to have him too.

Porter went out with a bang on this album, produced by Marty Stuart. He helped bring us Dolly Parton, but he is so much more than that. His music is a necessary part of any Country fans collection.

You really can't go wrong with Shania. Alongside Garth Brooks, she was one of the biggest stars of Country in the 90s and helped boost the genre internationally.

A bright new light in Country. She may only be 17, but she is a fantastic songwriter, as demonstrated on her debut and her Christmas album. She's gonna be around for a long time.

Tulsa Time...Turn Out The Light & Love Me Tonight...Some Broken Hearts Never Mend... So many great songs from one the best voices of Country. It's a great shame that he has now retired.

Another of the greatest songwriters ever. He could be both funny and deadly serious. His music for "Robin Hood" is probably the best ever heard in a Disney movie.

Country's first family. Essential listening. They are probably the longest lasting group in Country, starting off in the 1920's with AP, Sara & Maybelle, through to the later incarnation as "Mother Maybelle & The Carter Sisters" with Helen, June & Anita.
