This is absolutely the BEST Christmas album made by a solo artist. Mathis' singing is perfect. The song selection is cool and tasteful. Just a lovely recording.

This was a classic the instant the Peanuts television special was broadcast. This soundtrack melts your heart. Jazz even those who hate jazz can love.

Part two of the same Time-Life Treasury of Christmas. Every bit as good. Don't fool around. Get this one too.

If you want to have one R&B Christmas album, this is it.

The first time I listened to this album, it seemed a little cold and emotionless. But through the years this has really grown on me. I am not a diehard Sinatra fan. Somehow he really comes through with this one.

Goofy? Yes. Fun? Oh, yes!

More proof that if God hadn't invented whiskey the Irish would have taken over the world.

No. I didn't like them either. But this is way better than you'd think. Normally a little too polished for my taste; but (what the hell) it's Christmas. Just relax and enjoy it.

A gentle album by a gentle man.

Everyone from Kenny Chesney to the Beatles (esp. George Harrison and Paul McCartney)cite Chet as an master guitarist and teacher. This album is deceptively simple. Seems like a throwaway; but I keep going back to this one every year.

Insrumentals gentle on the ears. Some dislike "New Age" in principle but don't listen to them. A lovely record. Another antidote to too much "Jingle Bells". In all the rush of presents, cooking and getting ready for the big family get-together, sit and listen. Lowers the blood presure and sweetens your attitude.

For the hardcore. Lutheran--but nothing like Garrison Keilor. For Luther and the other reformers, Christmas wasn't just another feast day as it was for much of the rest of Christendom. Pull out all the stops and bring on the funny hats!

I generally dislike attempts to sneak guilt trips into Christmas; but some people can't help themselves. On the other hand, much of these are fun and even moving. It is a hit and miss affair. Best if you don't expect a lot.
