NasNas by Nas
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $2.96
Nas created a nice CD with "Untitled". The theme centered around the original title of the CD.
Rising DownRising Down by The Roots
Buy new: $10.97 / Used from: $3.64
The Roots produced another banger in "Rising Down". The guest appearances were on point and the title track is one of my favorite rap tracks of 2008.
The RenaissanceThe Renaissance by Q-Tip
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $5.75
After waiting awhile to finally buy this CD, I was upset at myself after I found out how nice this CD was. Any A Tribe Called Quest or Q-Tip fan should own this CD. It's that good.
Pro ToolsPro Tools by Gza
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $4.31
Well if you didn't know that GZA released a CD in 2008, now you know. If you have been a fan of GZA's solo releases, then you will not be disappointed at all.
Murs for PresidentMurs for President by Murs
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $1.70
After being introduced to Murs at the Rock The Bells in Columbia, MD, I decided to purchase Murs' latest offering. Murs for President was definitely one of my favorite rap releases of 2008. I plan on buying other CDs from Murs' discography soon.
Paper TrailPaper Trail by T.i.
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $4.26
TI came back with a bang after the disappointing TI Vs TIP. This was definitely my favorite Down South rap release of 2008.
Theater of the MindTheater of the Mind by Ludacris
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $2.00
Luda goes back to basics with his best release since "Chicken And Beer". You should definitely check out "I Do It For Hip Hop" w/Nas & Jay-Z, unless you're Jaz that is..lol
EmeritusEmeritus by Scarface
Buy new: $15.99 / Used from: $7.53
If this is Scarface's last CD (..and we have heard this plenty of times before), then he definitely ended on a good note. "Forgot About Me" w/Lil Wayne and Bun B is my favorite track on the CD.
II TrillII Trill by Bun B
Buy new: $18.98 / Used from: $5.79
Bun B follows up his solo debut "Trill" with a nice follow up in "2 Trill". You should definitely check out his tribute to Pimp C, "Angel In The Sky" and "You're Everything" which features 8Ball & MJG, David Banner & Rick Ross.
Love Behind The MelodyLove Behind The Melody by Raheem DeVaughn
Buy used from: $4.09
Raheem DeVaughn follows up "The Love Experience" with a stellar 2nd CD in "Love Behind The Melody".
The Point Of It AllThe Point Of It All by Anthony Hamilton
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $6.06
Anthony Hamilton does it again ladies and gentlemen. If you don't own Comin' From Where I'm From, Ain't Nobody Worryin' and The Point Of It All, your music collection is missing something.
Something ElseSomething Else by Robin Thicke
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $1.84
Robin Thicke follows up "The Evolution...." with a nice disc in "Something Else". "Dreamworld" is my favorite track but there are tracks that everyone can like on this CD.
Year of the GentlemanYear of the Gentleman by Ne-Yo
Buy new: $10.97 / Used from: $4.66
Ne-Yo may have just made his best CD with this effort. There are an assortment of uptempos, midtempos and ballads that are definitely worth having in your r&b collection.
OnMyRadioOnMyRadio by Musiq Soulchild
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $8.95
Just when you thought it was over, Musiq comes "Back Again" for his fans..lol If you enjoyed Musiq's other 4 discs, then you should also enjoy this one.
Lay It DownLay It Down by Al Green
Buy new: $14.49 / Used from: $5.95
Al Green definitely layed it down with this CD. The production is stellar and John Legend, Corinne Bailey Rae and Anthony Hamilton collaborate on the project. This CD gets a Thumbs Up from me Al.
Here I StandHere I Stand by Usher
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $2.22
Although this isn't up there with Confessions, Here I Stand is still a nice CD, especially the title track. People can't expect Usher to make the same music on every single album.
EvolverEvolver by John Legend
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $5.71
John Legend does it for the 3rd time on "Evolver". It's not "Get Lifted", but it's still a nice offering from John.
Sketches of a ManSketches of a Man by Dwele
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $8.18
Dwele does it for the 3rd time on "Sketches Of A Man". You also should have "Subject" and "Some Kinda" in your collection.
The ArrivalThe Arrival by Kindred the Family Soul
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $5.98
Kindred makes it 3 for 3 with "The Arrival". This "House Of Love" is always welcomed in my Ipod or in my stereo.
Love & LifeLove & Life by Eric Benet
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $6.53
Eric Benet may not get the hype anymore like he did before, but "You're The Only One" is definitely one of the best r&b tracks of 2008.
FearlessFearless by Jazmine Sullivan
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $5.69
Jazmine impressed me on her debut CD, especially if she never tries to "Bust The Windows" out of my truck...lol
Leave It All BehindLeave It All Behind by The Foreign Exchange
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $10.98
If you enjoyed "Connected", then you will also like "Leave It All Behind". There is less rapping going on this time as Phonte does more singing this time around. On "Connected" there was more of a balance.
Seeing SoundsSeeing Sounds by N.E.R.D.
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $0.60
N.E.R.D did it again. "Spaz" was definitely one of my favorite tracks of 2008. If you don't own "..In Search Of", "Fly Or Die" or "Seeing Sounds" then you don't know what you're missing.
