A few things to note here:
- This DVD presents both the uncut English-dub and the uncut Japanese versions. Consequently, the action shown is more violent and bloody than in the DVDs which are cut English-dubs. Just FYI for the parents.
- This DVD has English subtitles available for both versions, which is a great help if you are hearing-impaired.
- The English voice actors here are in some cases different than those featured in the previous cut English-dubs. For some characters, the difference is subtle, but a delicate ear will pick up the difference. My enjoyment wasn't lessened, but be aware so it doesn't take you by surprise.

In a powerful episode, we gain a great deal of insight into the life and motives of Vegeta. Ripped from his parents as a child, he was raised by Frieza who treated him cruelly and used him as nothing more than an exotic plaything. Though he has lived, breathed, and been nothing but evil his entire life, there is still good buried deep within him - the good that Goku sensed so long ago. This is the power of the DBZ saga: Vegeta is not evil just because the series needed a villain; he is evil because of a tragic childhood which will always plague him, always haunt him. Goku's heart goes out to the Saiyan and, for the first time, he is no longer ashamed to call himself 'Saiyan'.

Now, I normally don't watch DBZ. Actually, I used to think it was some lame, gay show on Cartoon Network for little kids. But my friend is obsessed with it and made me sit down and watch it in the original Japanese version. Watching Vegeta die with tears in his eyes made me actually cry too, even though before I hated this show. Even if you do hate DBZ, this is well worth the watch, because it's really emotional and well depicted.
