Classic
A few things to note here:
- This DVD presents both the uncut English-dub and the uncut Japanese versions. Consequently, the action shown is more violent and bloody than in the DVDs which are cut English-dubs. Just FYI for the parents.
- This DVD has English subtitles available for both versions, which is a great help if you are hearing-impaired.
- The English voice actors here are in some cases different than those featured in the previous cut English-dubs. For some characters, the difference is subtle, but a delicate ear will pick up the difference. My enjoyment wasn't lessened, but be aware so it doesn't take you by surprise.

Easily one of the saddest installments in the entire DBZ series, Krillin and Piccolo are dealt death blows by Frieza, and in particularly brutal and scarring ways. Piccolo manages to hang onto life, barely, but Krillin is literally ripped apart by Frieza's power. The fear, anger, and horror triggered in Goku by this act send him tipping over the edge into Super Saiyan... but beware, this violent episode is not suitable for young children.

The sleeping legend awakes
This installment is a must for all dragonball z fans. It depicts the legendary super saiyan awakening in Goku just in time for him to wage war on Freeza. After watching Krillan die and piccolo sacrifice himself to save Goku from a Freeza attack Goku's anger and rage force him to transform in to the Golden warrior of justice.
With this awesome power flowing through his vains Goku struggles to hold on to who he is. "Now you will know the horror Freeza!" What commences is an all out assault on the evil Freeza who is no match for the newly rejuvinated Goku.

Super Saiyan Goku
When the Spirit Bomb didn't work at all, Goku exploded with anger after the death of his friends and transformed into the legendary Super Saiyan. With this new strength and speed, it seems that Frieza has bit off more than what he chewed. Can Goku accomplished the impossible and end Frieza's reign of terror?
