Humourous Poke at Battle Fairy Yukikaze and Stratos 44
First off, this title is a off beat from the Serious title Battle Fairy Yukikaze and die hard anime fans will probably turned off by this title. For me, I enjoyed the movie even though it was only 1 episode long and concept of the story is probably rampantly found in other anime parodies.

Seriously, I'm not sure why everyone is getting this title low marks, people have to realize, this is not intended to be a serious anime unlike its story that is it base off. Sure, the plot sounds corny, guy goes to anime convention, gets sucked into a anime inspired world where the jets are portrayed as girls and they tell him that they will be erased from existence once the anime fans go to another show.

Like I said, its corny but very humorous and light-hearted. As most anime fans would say, give it a try you may like it. If you don't want to spend the money on it, get a netflix account and rent it before you buy it.

Until next time, peace out!

Another harem anchor to be heaved into the Sea of Oblivion2
By his own admission, 17 year old Rei Sugiyama is a clueless kinda guy with imaginary fears. Your typical wuss? or just an overly sensitive guy? Like so many other things, this all depends on one's viewpoint.

After sending in an application card from a dvd, he wins a ticket to the "Battle Fairy Yukikaze/Stratos 4 Emotion Festival". Encouraged by his buddies, he decides to go. Once there, it turns out to be better than he could've imagined. He's soon overwhelmed by the scope of the event and the size of the crowd on hand. Getting woozy, literally, and in need of a break from it all... he makes his way to a bathroom.

Well, at this point, just insert magical story device number 1. All hail the mighty Restroom. As he enters, a desert setting appears, and the door fades. It's not just any desert, it's the one from Yukikaze - Anime Legends Complete Collection (Yukikaze - Yuki - courage, Kaze - wind). Complete with all the high, thin clouds, and greenish sky. It's here that Mave Chan, a female character armed with two big knives? attacks him. As he's running for his life, another female, one well endowed and dressed in a cute outfit, Super Sylph, version 1.5 swoops down and carries him to safety.

Soon after, another female named "Sylphid" lands and joins the group. As they all talk with Rei, we learn once upon a time they were originally battle mecha from an anime show. Rei, in their words has entered a place "made possible by the amplification of passions that large numbers of anime fans produce during anime events. The desires and dreams of these fans gave these characters their current form in what is known as the world of imagination".

As Super Sylph exclaims "the purer those feelings are, the more strength we gain from them!" To which Sylphid, staring at Rei now, replies "we get some with impure desires too... You're not one of Them, are you?!" A couple more, you guessed it, female supporting cast members enter the scene, and a JAM attack begins. These two, 1chan and 2chan (Japanese BBS's?!) along with Sylphid continue their fight as Mave Chan, Super Sylph and Rei head for a night of safety within a cave.

With everyone eventually gathered 'round, we hear the plight of the Battle Fairies. Again, in their words "it's the era of mass produced anime, fans are fickle and are always finding another show. The meaning of their existence fades as a result. They're the microcosm of human society, popular when it's convenient, an once eveyone tires of them, it's the end". Rei then relates his experience with anime as a child, how his passion came about, and what he found of value in it Stratos 4 - Complete Collection is the series that hooked him). By doing this, he's offered a glimmer of hope to the other characters.

Obviously with only one episode to work with, morning arrives quickly and Rei is taken back to where he entered. On their way, "Forgetter" is introduced. He's one complete dufus of a spoof, looking like something from a Getter Robo Armageddon - Power Pack (Vols. 1-4) but one with a slightly off centered, as in whack, mental state. The Japanese voice for this part is played to perfection. For me, it's the best part of this entire episode, and that's my "Got a lemon? then make lemonade" view on this.

Extras: Textless Ending, A brief Japanese Promo clip of the show. Previews: Gundam Seed Destiny, Planetes, Ghost in the Shell SAC. Audio: Stereo- Japanese and or English with/without subtitles. Widescreen.

A few other things: This is the kind of anime dvd you borrow. You can borrow mine. I wouldn't even spend $ on a rental, let alone buy it unless you're a hardcore dvd librarian collector. Some people may get offended or not really care for the cotton. So you should know there's at least one panty shot here. This pretty much plays like an overt attempt to promote the anime it references here. just my observation.

This isn't some Miyazaki masterpiece. How's that for understatement? But it's also not THAT bad. Without naming names, I know of entire series that offer less entertainment value than this single episode does. That's anime. Plenty of series are incomplete; others have trainwrecks for endings; or the funding disappeared; or the manga it was based on never got completed. My favorite: the entire release never made it here because of licensing or a Geneon situation unfolded. It's always something. Anyway, a little homework on the web will save you $$ from these kinds of things. The thing I always remind myself is this: Anime is to enjoy. If and when I can't, then I find something else that works better.

2 stars. Too short. Too sappy. Too many words for just one episode. dang.

Waste of Time!1
This show is a horrible Anime, I bought it not listening to the other review since I usually dont listen to others this time I regret it. First its about a guy who loses himself in Anime and gets invited to an Anime convention for Stratos 4 and Yukikaze. The villian of the show is a super lame character called the Forgettor. He is rather annoying much like the other characters, It ended typically the same. Wasnt that great and should never be rented or viewed near an open flame.
