Shindou Ranmaru has just graduated from police academy and assigned to Tokki: Special Mobile Investigation Force. On the day of his graduation, he meets the half-naked girl he has been seeing in his dreams, Rokujo Sakura. It turns out she works for a secret group within Tokki, known as Tokko: Special Public Safety Task Force. Shindou ends up joining Tokko to avenge his parents' death, and solve the mystery mass murder of residents in his hometown of Machida. Bottomless pits start to appear around Japan, and mysterious creatures emerge from them, linked to the mass murder of humans.

I already saw these....
Man this show is awesome im only mad because when it says the complete series it isnt all the seasons its just the first season which is what i already saw....so yeah i wish there was a second season out there butttt.....i dont think there is so yeah..good show deffinatley worth watching if u like transformation anime's ( were man character goes through multiple transformations to get stronger)

Swords, guns, blood, gore, girls, and monsters
Not bad at all. I really did enjoy Tokko from the very start until the end. Not a masterpiece by any stretch but had it been longer. It could have been later on mentioned together with the greats. Even though it does has flaws, Tokko does so many things right that the flaws are barely noticed.

The main character Ranmura Shindo just graduated from the academy to become an inspector. His reason is to solve the murder of his parents and get revenge by killing the killer himself. He learns of a secret task force that is rumored to combat creatures that aren't even human. His first day of work turns into a terrorizing experiance.

Tokko's biggest strength lies in the action and gore. The action is pretty good but the fight scenes could have been better at times. However, there's times the action scenes are so over the top you may want to see them again. You will see lots of dismembering in this one and it doesn't come off cheap or cheesy.

Another thing the anime does right. It's the characters. Character development is minimal. But you will find hard not to cheer for this group. Most of them have very fun personalities and the dialogue could have you laughing at times. Be warned, there is a bit of cursing.

The storytelling is very well paced. It never gets boring and the suspense gets a lot better in the second half. I was gripped the whole time and before I realized anything, it was almost over. I would speak more about it but I don't want to spoil it. Another reviewer already did that.

The animation is pretty good but not without it's flaws. I feel the gore could have been alot better at times. The soundtrack was good at times but nothing special. I also like the opening and end themes.

If there are any real flaws in this. It has to be predictability. Too many things were too spelled out at times. I guess this mostly comes from seeing so much anime but it didn't effect my enjoyment. Someone already mentioned that the ending came off weak. I don't agree with that too much but to a certain degree. I think it works out and I'll just leave it at that.

Tokko is a very good 13 episode series. And I'm happy to add this to my collection. It has characters with charisma, action, and some good comedy. It's not thought driven at all for those looking for something to put their brain in knots. This is for those looking for some slaughter.

the Good, the Great, and the Ugly
well just like the others said, this is a fun show. if you are like me and love a good fight and body parts flying around. THUMBS WAY UP!! although i will have to say that this is the worst MANGA made anime show that i have seen. don't get me wrong, MOST of the show is well done, and some is very good. but, other times is just horrible. almost as if they were trying to stay under a budget WAY lower than any other project they've had. but despite that, its very fun. and that's why i give this 4 stars. hope this helps...
