A retelling the Peter Pan story. I had never read Peter Pan in any of its incarnation, and bought this book merely because I liked Dave Barry. It is wonderful magicish piratey fun.

Everybody seen the Popeye animated cartoons, but not many know it was originall a newspaper strip by EC Segar. They are from the late 1920's early 1930's, and have their own unique flavor.

I can never enjoy black and white films properly, because they're not quite real. With the Marx brothers, though, I don't even notice. Fast forward through all the scenes that don't have the Marxes in them.

Speaking of Roald Dahl... His other books can be more exciting and filled with interesting weirdness, but this one, for me, has always had a strange little charm.

I watched the TV show of Jeeves and Wooster, because I had vaguely heard of PG Wodehouse and liked both Steven Fry and Hugh Laurie. This series is excellent, more period British fun, and caused me to search out and find the books.

Aardman again. Great work.

They made a movie of this a few years ago. It had some good visuals and actors, but the book is SOOOOOOO much funnier. Read. Lather. Repeat.

I like the early years of the simpsons the best. Say, seasons 3 thru 7.

Usagi Yojimbo is masterful anthropomorphic animal samurai legends.

Tintin is exciting Avoid the early ones, as they're a bit rough and 'of their time' and the later ones get a bit weird too. Stephen Moffat is writing the script for the movie, so I'm sure it will be great.

I wrote this one too! Takes place after 'Cheese' and has more pirates in it.

They've just finally released Jungle Book on DVD. It doesn't have near enough special features but JB is my favorite disney movie ever. (Probably because when I was 3, it was one of the only video tapes I had, so I watched it over and over, hundreds of times. I can still recite the entire movie verbatim, and still sing it's songs during my morning shower.

I can't seem to find the proper Gilligan Island season box sets, but I'm sure you can. You can't beat Gilligan for wacky sillyness.

Jimmy Gownley is a friend of mine. Everyone says this, but it's like Peanuts, if Peanuts were set in todays world with video games and such, as opposed to the 1950's.

I LOVE POGO. A newspaper strip from the 50's and 60's and to a lesser extend, 70's. Each daily strip has multiple jokes and punchlines, with GORGEOUS artwork. If Walt Kelly isn't in the Alec Guiness Book of world records for creating a so many hundreds of characters, he should be.

Everyone my parents age has heard of Bob Newhart, but I think these modern day young people you hear so much about would like him too.
