REDEFINITION OF SOUL5
This album is a classic in terms of redefining soul and dance music ,NILE RODGERS AND BERNARD EDWARDS(rip),took alot of the classical elements of the past and threw some stank on it! Dance music was never the same ,also a lot of bands emulated their unique production style, their ballads were almost chants what huge orchestrations and strong background vocals, their image on the covers of their albums were elegant and sophisticated, which was often reflected in their music, C'EST CHIC is essential to the collection ......TIMELESS

Often imitated, never duplicated...5
In the late '70, this band has created a brand new musical style. They shown to the world that the definition "dance music" could been a synonym of "good music". I still think about Nile, Bernard and Tony how one of the best rhythm sections that i've heard in my whole life! Their rhythm arrangements was truly amazing and innovative.
Chic's music has been the more meaningful crossover between the "disco" era and the contemporary R&B music. Time flown, but great music never age.
R.I.P. Bernard and Tony...you're gone but not forgotten.

C'est stylish5
This elegant and innovative album took the clubs and the charts by storm in 1978 at the height of the disco boom. Of course the two hit singles Le Freak and I Want Your Love are the most immediately appealing tracks, both as pop and as dance music. My other favorites include Savoir Faire with its jazzy arrangement and the soulful At Last I Am Free. C'est Chic perfectly encapsulates the mood of an era. Together with Grace Jones' Portfolio, Donna Summer's Bad Girls, Boney M's Love for Sale and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, it is one of the best disco albums of all time. The Chic movement included Norma Jean and Sister Sledge, both worth your time if you like classy dance music. Read all about the Rodgers/Edwards legacy in Everybody Dance: Chic and The Politics of Disco by Daryl Easlea.
