it took 28 yrs!5
i was 9yrs old when this album came out. all i listened to was "give me the night" and "love x love". then when i started djing i played "dinorah dinorah". so one day i found my old lp that was in so-so condition. that's when i discovered the rest. this is a timeless piece of work for george. oh, last but not least you can't overlook the awsome production work of quincy jones. still can't believe this came out in 1980.

A true gem in my collection5
This album was excellently produced, engineered and performed. It is, in my opinion, one of the best albums of the last century. Rod Temperton (of Heatwave) contributes to this album (he wrote many of Michael Jackson's super-mega hits) and the George Benson and Rod Temperton combination is pure musical heaven. A truly must-have in any jazz aficionado's collection. This album brings back many good memories of the late 70s and early 80s.

More Instrumentals please!3
Many people like George Benson, for many different reasons. Some love his singing, whilst others crave his prowess on the guitar. I happen to fall into the latter category. This release (the first on the newly formed Qwest) was the first (and as we speak only) collaboration between Quincy Jones & Mr. Benson. Most people will be familiar with the vocal cuts on here (Love X Love, Give Me the Nights) but upon listening to the LP I came across some instrumentals that left me purring. First up, 'Off Broadway, which is an up tempo cut that is vibrant, energetic. Pure Class. But my favorite cut on here is 'Dinorah, Dinorah,. I normally let this song play on repeat on my MP3 player. George is on fine form here, on this mid tempo cut, broken up with the female chorus hook, violins. Heaven.
I like many am wishing that George will soon release a CD of Jazz Instrumentals, but until such time, I will catch them where I can find them, on CDs like this.
