REALLY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!
Tower of Power In Concert (Ohne Filter) DIDN'T EVEN PLAY ON MY DVD PLAYER..I GUESS I COULD ALWAYS USE DVD AS A "COASTER" OR A REALLY EXPENSIVE "FRISBEE"!! I SHOULD HAVE READ AND LISTEN TO REVIEWS BEFORE PURCHASING IT ..OH WELL THEY SAY YOU LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES, BELIVEVE ME I DID THIS TIME!!

A bit bland unless you're a hard core TOP fan!
I purchase this DVD so that I could see David Garibaldi play. He is the original drummer as most of you know and had left the group back in their heyday in the mid 70's. He came back in 1998 or so and took off where he left off. The video itself is ok but would have probably been better had the crowd been more into the music. They were rather sedate with the exception of the few Americans that were in the audience. I went to see them this past April and I got to meet Mr. Garibaldi and Mr. Rocco Prestia their bass player and also one of the original band members. Both were a pleasure to talk to. Very warm and friendly to their fans and very approachable. I did take a picture of Rocco and me after the concert but I was flabbergasted when Garibaldi turned around and walked towards me after he had finished talking to some fans before the concert began. He had a big smile on his face, shook my hand and after I managed to get a few words out of my mouth he said "Thank you, enjoy the show."

There is a more recent DVD out titled "Tower of Power (Live)" that was also recorded in Germany in 2005 and this one has Larry Braggs singing lead vocals. He has been with the group for a while now and besides Lenny Williams he is the best singer TOP has had. I also got to talk to him after the show.

My brother loves it!
My brother is a huge fan of Tower of Power (from their beginning), and requested an older cd (Oakland Zone) for Xmas. I found and purchased it on Amazon, and while browsing Tower of Power material available I noticed this dvd, and bought it, as well. He is crazy about it...both the songs on it, and the fact that the lead singer on the dvd is the same one that we saw in the last two East Coast concerts we attended. There is also some patter on the dvd that he found amusing. He played it all Xmas Day. Actually, we all loved it.
