"Makavelli Never Lied" is a tribute to the erotic power of music that namechecks everyone from the title rapper to John Lennon, while "My Body's Hungry," "Baby I'm Your Fiend," and duets with Gerald Levert and old cohort Rick James are a touch more direct in acknowledging the bedroom side of the equation. Elsewhere, she cops to a dancehall influence ("Recycle Hate to Love") and brings a tribute to daughter Alia Rose ("High Yellow Girl"). I remember this album when I was in the 11th grade. I love this album. This album is good. This album is about that La Dona knows not only where she cam but also where it all originated and stays ahead of where it is all going. La Dona to Latin families is the equivalent of the Godmother. She has paved paths, laid foundations and lead by exalted example, pulling inspiratino from the highest of cultrue to the most popular denominators. This album shows her mixing old school with the new school. much of this album revels in the realm of the sensual. with this album, she is poised to send shockwaves a new through a music industry in dire need of mature artists with cross-cultural appeal, and positive, thought-provoking ideas to share. This album has been certified Gold. Remember, this was 2004.

Teena Marie evolves with the times. She adapts "new school" lyrics with that sultry old school feel. With twangy guitar licks that take a Teena fan back to the "Portuguese Love" days. This album in one for the collection.
