Cursed by Morganna LeFay, Marrok of Cadbury has lived in isolation for fifteen centuries without friendship, sex, or hope. When he begins dreaming of another LeFay woman with the trademark violet eyes and birthmark of the spell-happy witch who doomed him, he's determined to do whatever necessary to make her release him and grant him death--even abduct her. But soon Marrok discovers they are mates and that he must protect her from an evil wizard who knows she holds the key to a power both terrible and awesome--a power he will do anything to seize.
After her mother's death, Olivia Gray discovered that the father she thought died before her birth is actually alive and in London. Determined to find him and the acceptance she's always yearned for, she moves to the British capitol, opens an art gallery, and begins her search. It isn't long after a sexy stranger appears in her erotic dreams that he walks into her shop and abducts her--demanding she release him from a curse. As Marrok ingrains himself in her life, evil stalks her, and Olivia is caught between her long-lost family and her immortal mate. Will she and Marrok choose the dreams they've held dear or the love in their hearts?

From Publishers Weekly
More Spamalot than Camelot, the debut of Black's Doomsday Brotherhood series introduces Marrok of Cadbury, who was a brave warrior in King Arthur's army until his unhappy lover, Morganna le Fay, cursed him with immortality and perpetual sexual frustration. Fifteen centuries later, Marrok is working as a sculptor in London and searching for a way to unlock Morganna's nasty little book of spells, the Doomsday Diary, though he's not sure he can break the curse without unleashing the book's deadly magic. Marrok also has to hide the Diary from villainous wizard Mathias d'Arc (Cruel, clever, hedonistic, rapacious. Brilliantly evil.) and decide whether beautiful art gallery owner Olivia Gray, Morganna's descendant, is his greatest nemesis or his sexual salvation. This orgasmic paranormal might make T.H. White turn over in his grave but will keep Black's fans panting for the next installment. (Sept.)

Its a good romance but not a great book
I read it but only after my TBR pile was empty. Even then I kept putting it down and forgetting to read it for a few days. Don't get me wrong, the story was well written and all the other reviews here give you a clear picture of the storyline. For me the gal in the book 'Oliva' was annoying which really made it hard for me to read. Whinny, "Oh who should I believe, my immortal mate or the father I haven't ever seen before?" She wasn't street smart, witty, funny, interesting, intelligent. But she was a soon to be powerful witch, young, a virgin etc. I had to skip over paragraphs of her "will I or won't I" dialogue as it set my teeth on edge. Thats just me. I enjoy a novel more if I like the main gal, when she annoys me well its a struggle.
Soooooo 3 stars out of 5 but as I said, it is a good book but not my cup of tea.
Could be better
It says on the spine a Pocket Book *ROMANCE*. Hmm.....I read about two people whose souls were forced to mate, a witch who needed a man's semen or else she'd die, and a fight to keep a gilt book out of the hand's of a seriously demented bad guy.
If I wanted to read about action, action, action, I would go reread my JR WARD BDB books.
There was barely any interaction between Olivia, and Marrock, and sorry, but it's bordering on incest (for me at least) when he's sleeping with the great-grandaughter of the witch he also slept with and cursed him, who looks exactly like her except for the hair.
I'd also like to say the loss of Anka to Lucan reminded me a tad too much of Tohrment and Wellsie in the BDB series.
I like Bram, but he reminds me of Acheron from SK's Hunter Novels.
The idea of the series is ok, but the romance needs more substance, build up, and more explanation why this book is so dang important. Heck, I got more info out of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone than I did about this Doomsday diary.
Besides, when the first page of a story has the word c*ck in it, it's normally a let down for me.
Tempt Me With Darkness-A Joyfully Recommended Title
Centuries ago, Marrok of Cadbury was cursed with immortality by a witch seeking vengeance. Morganna le Fay used the Doomsday Diary to trap Marrok. Centuries later, evil wizard Mathias d'Arc seeks the diary to create his own page of horror. Marrok has the diary and seeks a way to end his curse so that he can finally die. When he meets beautiful Gallery Owner Olivia Gray, Marrok's feelings begin to change. Marrok is convinced that Olivia can unlock the diary and end his curse. Olivia is trapped between her intense feelings for Marrok and her fear that he is crazy. Soon she realizes his tale is all too horrifyingly true, and that she may just be the answer Marrok has been seeking. While Marrok and Olivia adjust to the new bond between them, Olivia is confronted with a father she never knew, power she can't comprehend, and an evil that will stop at nothing to get what it wants. For so long all Marrok wanted was to break his curse, but Olivia has given him something worth living for.
Tempt Me With Darkness is a tale of enchanting eroticism. Marrok is sinfully sexy and very charming. He's an old world warrior stuck in a new age. Olivia is vulnerable yet strong, innocent yet a siren. Her fire is matched by Marrok's intensity. The Doomsday Brethren has a fantastic storyline where battles often play out like a very cool video game and passion lurks on every page. Magickind, the Privileged and the Deprived, the Anarki, and the sexy and mysterious men of the Brethren are fascinating. Tempt Me with Darkness is a delicious cocktail of passion, romance, and mystical power with a twist of evil goodness. It's intoxicating. I can't wait for the next Doomsday Brethren novel!
