Good AHA lotion
This is a great, straight-up AHA lotion with no frills (like perfume) and is very effective. I've been using this lotion on my feet to smooth roughness and it is really working. The only drawbacks are a slight chemical smell and some stickiness after applying. However, if you're looking for a great AHA, this product will do the job.
Effective Treatment for Dry Skin
AmLactin was recommended to me by a dermatologist to treat both common dry skin and the (harmless but unsightly) hereditary condition "keratosis pilaris", the medical name for the red, rough bumps sometimes found on the outer sides of the upper arms. It is an incredible product. One application of the lotion treats dry skin all day, and prolonged usage reduces the appearance of keratosis pilaris. Some may find the unperfumed scent unpleasant, but its effectiveness makes this a small tradeoff in my book. As a note, AmLactin cannot be used on skin with cuts or infections as its strong ammonium and lactic acid combination will burn.
GREAT! For my KP
At 25 now, I have had KP my whole life as it was passed down through my family. I was diagnosed by the dermatologist when I was 16 going in for Acne treatment. He prescribed various things that never worked, but after research I discovered this lotion. Thus far, I really like it. I agree with the strong chemical smell being kind of disconcerting, but I throw my fave scent over it, and I have never had anyone else tell me I smelled like chemicals. My only complaint with the product is that it smooths my skin so drastically, if I miss a few days use I really notice the bumps coming back. Also don't use it after shaving unless you like the stinging feeling... and I do use it on my face alternately with my m.d. forte glycolic acid face lotion.
