From Children's Software Revue® -- "Subscribe Now!"
Both programs in these toddler and preschooler variety packs are excellent. Reader Rabbit's Toddler provides playful experiences with early logic and language concepts. The program is extremely responsive and easy to use and offers many nice features. For example, parents can type in their toddler's name so that it shows up in the coloring activities. There are finger plays, shape and color games, counting activities and alphabet instruction. Testers, both children and parents alike, loved the colorful graphics, solid activities and gentle theme. Preschool teachers will appreciate that song lyrics and the words to nursery rhymes can be printed out. This is a classic program, a perfect computer introduction for your toddler.
In Reader Rabbit's Preschool, kids must help Reader Rabbit and his gang fix up the Carousel, Bumper Cars, Moose Coaster and other broken down attractions of the carnival. To do so, they collect tickets in the park's numerous locations while playing concentration, counting, letter-sound association, art and music games. At the ABC Diner, kids feed visitors by matching food with their beginning letter-sounds. At the Shape Shack, children classify animals and objects. While the animation is not quite as smooth as many recent all-new releases, the activities are plentiful and very engaging.
Teaches: colors, shapes, counting, alphabet, early reading, early math, logic

Amazon.com Review
Reader Rabbit Toddler is part of a curriculum-based system that is designed to keep children learning all through their elementary school years. Simple, brightly colored graphics and classic sing-along songs make all these activities a sure hit with toddlers.
This pack gets kids off to a great start with an introduction to letters and numbers, matching and patterns, music, and mouse skills. In "Follow-Me Theater," children take a physically active role with finger plays and singing along, while in "Baby Animal Bingo," sounds are matched to help parent animals find their babies. The characters of Reader Rabbit and his sidekick, Matt the Mouse, are funny and friendly--and always ready to help if your child needs a hint.
Because these characters are in every unit--all the way to sixth grade--and the basic format for each level is similar, children can dive right in to the new curriculum skills without the distraction of different graphic styles or character guides. This pack includes the next step--Reader Rabbit Preschool--as a free bonus. You'll see quickly why this series is so often used in schools, and we're sure your toddler will love it as much as her future teachers already do. --Jill Lightner

Customer Reviews
Love it.
Bought it for my then three year old. He is five now and still shows an interest in it. Great practice and fun, too.
NOT MACINTOSH COMPATIBLE
Although listed as Mac Compatible, this product is only compatible with OS 9. If you went out and bought a new Macintosh computer today, your child would not be able to use this software.
Very Engaging
I have a 4 year old boy with developmental delays (cognitive, fine motor, speech)... so this was perfect for him. Between the games easy mouse use design (and me setting the mouse on a slower motion), he quickly became independent with the game. It became a great reward for good behavior after therapy sessions.
It has multiple activities, covering a wide range of abilities and interests: Coloring & Peek-a-Boo (perfect for young children learning how to control a mouse - all they have to do is move the mouse and the objective can be met); Shape Sorting & Bubble Popping (perfect for children who have more mouse control and learning basic preschool concepts; Alphabet & other matching activities (perfect for moving forward with those preschool concepts).
It's an older game, so you can install it on older computers easily, as well as new computers.
