One of Hawaii's best kept secrets, Natalie Ai Kamauu, proves she is no stranger to Hawaiian music. Natalie started turning heads when she was just a teenager, singing alongside her father, Howard Ai, for Halau Hula Olana. It wasn't long before Natalie began stealing the show. Although she garnered the coveted title Miss Aloha Hula, it was her angelic voice that really caught people's attention. Many among the hula community and Hawaiian music fans are proclaiming, "Finally!" Natalie Ai Kamauu's first solo release "'E," has arrived. A true labor of love, with husband, Iolani, on vocals and instrumentation, "'E" is a perfect, genuine debut for this stellar vocalist. Even more impressive, she's a songwriter. Natalie's voice dances playfully and soars effortlessly, weaving in and out of the guitar, bass, ukulele, and piano. It's a voice that penetrates straight to the heart and moves the soul. Produced by Na Hoku Hanohano Award winning producer Dave Tucciarone, "'E" seamlessly captures a little bit of sass, and a whole lot of heart. Already a sought after performer, "'E" is sure to secure her place among Hawaii's most beloved female artists. At the very first note, Natalie will command your attention, just as she always has.

Customer Reviews
Great singer, great CD.
Natalie, daughter of Howard and Olana Ai who formed Halau Hula Olana and former Miss Aloha Hula, demonstrates her talent as a singer on this debut album, which features recordings in both Hawaiian and English. Her husband can also be heard providing both lead and background vocals. Unusual as it may seem, I think his voice sounds just like Robert Cazimero. "Ke Aloha," "Baby Hula," and "Blossom Nani Ho'i E"--a composition of her own--are all songs that remind me of songs Raiatea Helm would sing because Natalie can sing just as high. When I first heard "Aloha Hawaii Ku'u One Hanau," I almost felt like crying. I never knew that she chanted until I heard "Ke Kuko E Ka Manawa" and "He Mele No Kahikuonalani." She's great for a female chanter. "Pili Aloha" is my favorite song on this album. Get it, please! You'll very rarely hear such a voice come out of Hawaii in the future!
A MUST have!
I bought this while visiting relatives in Hawaii, and I immediately fell in love! Her voice just takes you back in time when Hawaii was ruled by royalty. I love listening to her and her husband Iolani sing. And not because they are ohana. Even if they weren't, I would still tell everyone, if they already have not bought it, to go out and buy it. It's a MUST have!!!
