Another Hit n' Run for Lolleata Holloway
Another greatest hits package on the mark. This CD definitely captures the essence of Lolleata's career. With dance floor favorites "Hit n' Run", "Love Sensation", and "Runaway" (with the Salsoul Orchestra) this is a must have for a full collection of club classics.

The only thing I was disappointed with was some of Lolleata's hits from recent years, such as; "Crash goes Love", "Stand Up" and "Dreamin" (remix). The ladder of the three was released after the greatest hit package, but still I wouldn't have mind a reissue with the remix. I do know when you record with various labels it is hard to get consent from all of them to use in a collection of songs.

Anyway, it still is a must have, trust me on this!!!!!!!

Loleatta Holloway - One of the Truly Great Soul Singers
If Loleatta Holloway had been blond, from England with this incredible voice, she would be hailed (rightfully) in America as one of the most spectacular singers of all time. Unfortunately, the USA does most of it's "hailing" for immigrants such as Joss Stone and Amy Winehouse, neither of whom could hold a candle to the likes of Ms. Holloway in the singing department. Stone, Winehouse and others like them, come to the USA and jump right over people like Loleatta. They immediately get the best gigs, are invited to appear on Letterman, Leno and choice specials. Someone like Ms. Holloway has never had such opportunities offered to her and she is a GENUINE AMERICAN talent, just the "wrong" color.

Loleatta started singing in a black Baptist church in Chicago as a child. Later, she joined the famed Caravans and was thrilled when the group opened in Las Vegas for Aretha Franklin. In many ways, Loleatta is one of the five ladies that could actually sing on the same stage as Miss Franklin during her heyday.

Unfortunately, Ms. Holloway got caught up in the disco era and many people classify her as a "disco singer." She is much more than that, she is actually one of the premiere soul singers of all time.

I'd love to win millions in the lottery. One of the first people I'd call would be Loleatta and BEG her to allow me to produce her. You'd hear some of the most spectacular singing in the history of recorded sound, I'm sure.

This is an excellent collection, but Miss Holloway needs to go back into the studio and record an album of searing soul ballads.
