Editorial Reviews

Album Description
After a stint on the Philly Groove (Bell) label in the early 1970's, and Warner Brothers for one album, First Choice moved (with producers & writers Norman Harris and Ron Tyson) to Gold Mind (Salsoul) Records, where they released two classic Salsoul disco records, 'Let No Man Put Asunder' and 'Dr. Love' (from the album Delusions). In 1978, they released another brilliant LP, Hold Your Horses, which includes the classic disco tracks 'Double Cross' and their cover of Rare Pleasure's 'Let Me Down Easy'. This 2 CD collection gathers together all the hits the female disco trio recorded for Salsoul in the late '70s. 2005.

Customer Reviews

Salsoul rules!5
On this double cd you'll find all three First Choice-albums that were released on the famous Salsoul Label, plus a couple of lovely remixes of the disco-classics 'Doctor Love', 'Let no man put asunder', 'Double cross' and 'Love thang'. The voices of the three ladies - especially leadsinger Rochelle Fleming - are fantastic. The sound is perfect, there's a booklet with all the information you need, plus an interview with Rochelle. Buy this one, you won't regret it! And check out the other Salsoul-reissues (Loleatte Holloway, Inner Life (feat. Jocelyn Brown), Candido, The Salsoul Orchestra). The British label Suss'd! Records has really done a great job.

the music is fine but...2
be warned that some of the songs have been recorded from a record. so watch out and listen for those pops in the grooves.
