This triple disc set focuses on the romantic side of New Wave (not to be confused with the New Romantic side). A Love version works very well with this formula, especially with many school discos providing classic extended tracks from this era. Includes cuts from of Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Soft Cell, Phyllis Nelson, Lionel Richie, etc. 36 tracks total. UMTV.

Some crucial 12" versions finally on CD, but many album versions
As always with this series, numerous tracks are labeled as extended versions or 12" version but are actually just the LP versions. However, a handful of rare 12" versions actually do make their way to CD at last with great sound quality, which is reason enough to rejoice. Of particular note are the 12" versions of Jeffrey Osborne's "Stay With Me Tonight", the 12" of "Higher Love" by Steve Winwood, and the alternative mix of "Listen To Your Heart" by Roxette, which is different than the US LP version. Some individual notes below:

Were the other reviewer left of, here are a bit more details on disc 2.
Once again the label included many -easy to find- album versions and called them 12inch versions or long versions. Even without knowledge a look at discogs could tell the creators that they were labeling the titles wrong. Therefore, only 2 stars.. (for making me buy albums with versions that are wrong labelled)



CD2
