Buy new: $200.00 / Used from: $146.00 This is the other lens I own other than the kit lens. This lens gives a pretty nice picture but it doesn't have the IS so it takes some steady holding to get a good shot handheld. Also it's pretty slow.

This is a superior all around lens to my 18-55mm kit lens (which is the old type without even the IS). I considered setting my sites on a 5D Mk II package deal with the 24-105, but with a max aperature of f/4 it doesn't give you the superior speed that this lens does with a max f/2.8 aperature.

Buy new: $1,694.98 / Used from: $1,695.00 The superior speed of this lens, with its f/2.8 aperture throughout the full range of the lens, makes this my first choice over the f/4 version. Also, this is the version with the IS which face it, you can use all the help you can get when trying to handhold a lens at that length. This is definitely one I plan to purchase.
