Fun & Informative
My family and I have had a lot of fun flipping through this book and discovering things about the food we eat every day. My favorite part of this book is that every page has picures of the food being compared and on one side of the page it shows you what to eat and why and the other side of the page shows what NOT to eat and why. Many times both items being compared look almost identical, but there is definitely a wiser choice. Do you know the single worst item you can buy at your grocery store? Get this book and find out!
The book is divided up into sections so you can find whatever you're looking for whether it's comparing frozen pizza brands, what to order at your favorite restaurant, or what to fix for Thanksgiving Dinner. This stayed on our kitchen table for weeks where people would just thumb through it. It's a nice coffee-table book (it's small and lots of photos) and a good idea to take with you in the car so you can choose the right places to stop for lunch.
Great to keep in the car...
I keep this book in my car so that when I end up eating out unexpectedly, I can use it to make good choices. Who would have thought that ordering Burger King onion rings instead of fries cuts the fat and calories almost in half? Or that McDonalds Egg McMuffin has only 300 calories, and the pancakes at least twice that amount? We all know that eating out often packs on the pounds, but if you are like me, sometimes there is no getting around it. This book helps me to choose more wisely, without having to stick to dry salads or other "yucky" diet foods. I think it is a little pricey, but because I plan to use it as a reference for some time to come, I think it is worth the money. If you just plan to read it once and shelve it, not worth the money to buy...wait to get it at the library. You won't remember enough of the details for it to be a help to you unless you keep it in your car and refer to it often.
Glad I bought it
Working in the industry I am in, I do alot of eating on the go, so I found this book very informative. I never knew alot of the stuff I eat had so many calories in it. Thanks to the authors of this book for educating me. Highly recommended
