Product Description

Munchkin 4: The Need for Steed is the third expansion for the original Munchkin - 112 more John Kovalic-illustrated cards for killing monsters, stealing treasure, and backstabbing your fellow players. This set introduces Steeds, the trusty mounts of legend . . . Oh, wait - this is Munchkin! So these Steeds include not just the Dragon and the Tiger, but the Giant Mutant Gerbil (drawn by guest artist Shaenon K. Garrity of Narbonic), the Chicken, and Big Joe, who might be a Steed or might be a Hireling. It's hard to tell.
Hireling? Yes indeed, The Need for Steed has lots and lots of Hirelings, who look quite a bit like Sidekicks from Super Munchkin, or Minions from Munchkin Bites! Add these valuable characters to your retinue, use their special abilities, and sacrifice them without a thought to save your own skin! Or, better yet, kill somebody else's Hireling. That's the way a Munchkin does it!
Feel the need . . . The Need for Steed!

Best add on pack yet!5
This add-on definitely improves the original Munchkin! It contains sidekicks like an elf sidekick and dwarf sidekick who can use race-specific items and take some devices off your hands (literally!). It also has modifiers like High and Dark (high elf, dark wizard...) which can be used ALONG WITH race cards (dark characters gain a level when bad stuff happens to other characters, which adds a fun dimension). The other notable addition is the steeds, "items" which you can ride for as much as a +5 bonus with the all-powerful Dragon Steed. There's the perpetually terrified Chicken Steed, 9-Lived Tiger Steed, Giant Mutant Gerbil, and plenty of others. Plus, all the cards have that brilliant Munchkin humor. Since this repairs the race and hand restrictions in original Munchkin, I'd definitely suggest getting this one, even if it's the only add-on pack you collect!

Steeds are fun5
This add-on for Munchkins (#4) adds steeds and more henchmen (especially non-human henchmen). My kids and I (ages 9-11) played it after Christmas and found it to be a blast. The game time is still around 60 minutes even with the additions, so don't think that the game is really sped up with this pack. Good purchase nevertheless. We really enjoy it! Saving up for #5 now.

Great Expansion4
My husband and I LOVE this expansion--and not just because we want the thickest Munchkin deck in town. The cards add a new layer of play; and who doesn't like that?
