I wanted to create poetry that was accessible and entertaining. I wanted my words to be relevant in today's world while still respecting poetic laws and history. My poetry is humorous, on point and even a little sexy.

Addicting
Amazing! This is one of those things that I downloaded with every intent on reading it later when I had time. But once I took a peek, I couldn't stop, everything else went on the back burner. This was the best 'me' time, I had in quite a while. Sultry Saadia draws you in with the first poem, leaving you breathless to the end....
Many poems for a short
This is the first time I've downloaded an Amazon short. I was impressed by the sheer number of poems included in the 50 pages. (I expected 10-15 pages.) Ms. Aschemann's literary prowess is evolving and getting stronger. I especially enjoyed the poems inspired by literary giants like Jack Kerouack, Anne Sexton and James Joyce's Ulysses. She also has some beautiful "sin" poems written in French and a "truth" poem written in Italian (English translations included). Reading them in the original language is an oral delight - as are her other poems. She easily crosses the worlds of fantasy and reality: weaving a comforting blanket with her words, stitched together with her images.
Simply Brilliant
Saadia Ali Aschemann has truly found her medium as she sculpts a world of words with her poetry. This collection, "Flirtations and Booze," demonstrates her mastery of phrase and form, of humor and sensuality. Equally important is the brilliant and delicate simplicity with which she writes, demonstrating a wonderful contrast to the convoluted dithering that has plagued the world of poetry in recent decades--it's a gift to be able to express one's self with such clarity and sheer brilliance. There's no bland conformity here--Aschemann is daring and shows delight in diversity--and isn't afraid to practice it, taking us to (and tutoring us, be we poets or not, in) such intriguing styles as the tanka, the cento and sonic repetition.
"More Sin" and "Mission Statement" are, to this humble reader, mere scratches--delightful scratches--in the surface of this excellent collection. There's much more to be read here, and I suspect much more to come from this poet.
