Great filter, but not a cure for bad lighting
This is a great filter! I have several of them. I prefer the MRC version as I use that a lot on my 77mm mount lenses, like most the Canon L series zoom lenses. But the 67mm is great on the 70-200 F4 IS lens!!!!! As it and the lens are great optically and in performance!

A lot of people don't understand filters and the optics behind them and your camera. Basicly only 2 companies use Ground Glass filters, instead of cheap window grade glass. They are B+W and Heliopan! Hoya, Tiffen and such all use cheap window glass. Yah some are coated but still the optics of the glass are very LOW grade! The B+W is nice because they also use brass rings, instead of the aluminum ones that will bind up and lock-up to your lens or other filters!

Please understand no filter will reflect light, that is not what they are designed to do. If you have too much light a Circ Polarizer does limit the light coming in, if you rotate it properly. If you are trying to balance your shoot when there are some hot areas, the best thing to use is a slide in grad. neutral density filter! Cokin makes some but the Lee brand are a lot better.

If you are using a cheapo lens like a Sigma or other entry level lenses you may not want to spend the $$ for a top quality filter. But if you buy a good one it will last longer and you can also get stepping rings to allow you to put it on other size lens mounts. If you have a Quality piece of glass, like the Canon L series and such, then you really do need a filter that is as good as the lens is. That is why you would want a B+W or Heliopan. The ground glass they are made from is similar in the optics as that which is inside the lens.

Hope this helps. Please remember that a Circ polarizer you will need to rotate it to find the best position for the filter. Watch your colors as it will also help some of your colors pop. I use it also for sunsets, as it will help intensify the colors and lower the hotspots you will see.

Wrong description
This circular polarizer filter IS NOT an anti-reflective coated filter. The title of the product says otherwise. It is also quite heavy and has a very thick profile. A Hoya with the same "entry" characteristics is half the price. Also surprised to see smudges on the glass but the case was sealed. Very disappointed.
