Preconception Plain & Simple - A Deliciously Smart and Sexy Guide in Preparing for Pregnancy came to be born from my (Audrey’s) journey to have a baby! I wanted to nourish my body, mind, and soul with the proper steps to prepare myself, and my husband, to conceive a healthy child. I had seen too many women turn this wonderful time into a mechanical routine filled with stress and anxiety…I wanted to avoid that. I wanted to immerse myself in the magic and wonder of this time…to relax and have fun while letting nature take its course.

I asked my mother to share with me a few tidbits from her "time" – the mid-1970’s – but the quarter-century that had elapsed had brought so much more information and technology that she was as comically "clueless" as I was! So we embarked upon an unexpected journey, searching bookstores, libraries, and websites… looking for information on everything one needs to know about preconception.

We began to discover ways to promote fertility beyond the medical information, and I began to incorporate them into every aspect of my life; from fertility enhancing foods, flowers, aromas, gemstones and amulets, to spells and rituals used by different cultures to promote fertility. Sure, I still followed the medical advice, but I surrounded myself with the knowledge of the ages to create a nurturing environment, which allowed me to relax, have fun, and let the magic happen!

We wanted to share what we had learned with women everywhere by creating a guide for inviting fertility into their lives, and thus Preconception Plain & Simple was born - a one-stop resource for everything a woman needs to know about preconception.

About the Author
Audrey and Sharon are a mother-daughter writing team. Audrey is a 2000 graduate of Brown University. She lives in New York City with her husband Matthew, and her son William. Sharon is a retired high school teacher. She has degrees from Rhode Island College and Boston University, and taught language arts and writing for twenty-nine years. She lives in Bristol, RI with her husband Barry, and has four grown children, and five grandchildren.

The BEST How-To out there on pre-conception
This book is MUST read for any woman planning to have a baby. It is really the only book of its kind that includes both the medical and the mystical. Written with care, love, intelligence and lots and lots of women's wisdom - this book is full of interesting facts about preconception and definitely laymen friendly. It is easily conveyed that these two authors love babies!

Great Book!!
I read this book from cover to cover and couldn't put it down. It was an easy read and gave great advice about how to relax and enjoy the preparation of conceiving a child. This is a great book for women who are thinking about having a child, and want to get their bodies ready for it!

A True Success Story
This book isn't just for the first time you try to conceive, it's for anyone that wants to get pregnant regardless of past experiences. I was blessed enough to already have a beautiful and healthy little girl when my husband and I started thinking about having another. After suffering through some setbacks, we were frustrated and disappointed. After reading this book, it gave us renewed hope and helped us enjoy the process once again. We were relaxed and positive...and then we were pregnant! Preconeption Plain and Simple is imformative, factual and fun.
