EXTREMELY disappointed1
I've owned a set of Chicago Cutlery for 16 years (a wedding gift). They have served us very well. I decided the set needed replacing, not because the blades are bad, but because the wooden handles have dulled, and a couple have cracked. I purchased this set of Forum knives at Walmart, thinking I got a great deal. I mean, it's Chicago Cutlery. They make (made) great knives. They were sharp and beautiful out of the box. But now, it's only been two weeks, and the large chopping knife got some kind of foggy looking stains on it, and rust marks. One of the steak knives did also. I used soft scrub and even steel wool to try to buff it out, to no avail. Please note: I NEVER wash my knives in the dishwasher, always by hand. Needless to say, I'm returning them today and looking for a replacement brand. Shame on Chicago Cutlery!

Terrific product5
Excellent product. This is not the very best cutlery set for a professional chef, but it is outstanding for the chef aficionado.

Great, affordable set of cutlery4
If you're like me, you probably enjoy cooking, and enjoy it even more when you have good tools. And no matter what type of cooking you do, you're going to need some decent knives.

I purchased this set by Chicago Cutlery because they appeared to be decent-quality, and because my old knives were battered and worn beyond the point where I felt like having them all re-sharpened again.

After using these for about a week or so, I am very pleased. The knife block is attractive and the knives look great. I also like that the set came with a sharpening steel so that I can keep the blades straight and sharp.

Of course, fine cutlery should never be put in the dishwasher, and should always be cleaned and dried promptly after use. Doing so will greatly extend the life of the knives.

The only potential negative I can think of is that the handle on these may become slippery if they get wet, but that isn't likely to be a problem.
