Good for beginners
I'm new to the fondant thing, and decided to buy it for two reasons: 1. The books said I needed it and 2. It was inexpensive. I wasn't let down, I certainly did find it helpful in smoothing my (store bought) fondant. If you're new to fondant like I am, I certainly reccomend it.

Helpful
I found this smoother very helpful. It would have been better if my icing had been a bit firmer, but It worked well on the fondant to smooth it out. I also used it to flatten small balls of fondant to make shapes. I should order another one because it only comes with one. I would recommend to anyone starting out that would want to try it. It's not very expensive so if you don't like to use it then you don't loose out much.

I Own This But Don't Bother Using It
I know some people like these, but I don't find them very useful. I end up using my hands instead.
