Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal
Each of these books approaches dolls' houses somewhat differently from the usual books on constructing houses and making furnishings. Morse concentrates mainly on furnishings and interior components for English period houses from Stuart (1630s) to modern (1990s). Instructions are for adding interior elements to already constructed houses, and furniture is pictured in photos without directions for construction. Rowbottom's houses in 1/24th scale are half as large as the usual 1/12th scale used for most miniatures. His instructions and diagrams are for building period houses with furniture pictured but not described in the text. Miniaturists will find both books useful for specialized types of houses. Recommended for public libraries needing more of this type of material.

Customer Reviews

Interesting book3
The book has alot of period houses and interiors to look at. The picture detailing is great but the book lacks alot of instruction. What instruction it has is informative but is inconsistant. I only recommend this if you are very artistic and creative already and can figure out how to create these lovely houses.
