About the Author

Debbie Macomber, the author of such beloved novels as TWENTY WISHES, BACK ON BLOSSOM STREET, SUSANNAH S GARDEN, A GOOD YARN, THE SHOP ON BLOSSOM STREET, BETWEEN FRIENDS and the CEDAR COVE series, is one of today s leading voices in women s fiction. A regular on every major bestseller list with more than 60 million copies of her books sold, the award-winning author celebrated a new career milestone in September 2007, when the latest in her Cedar Cove series, 74 SEASIDE AVENUE, scored #1 on the NEW YORK TIMES, USA TODAY, Publishers Weekly and Bookscan bestseller lists. Her popularity is worldwide with her books translated into twenty-three languages.

Debbie loves to tell the story of her struggle to get published, and the five-year search to find a publisher who would buy one of her manuscripts. Dyslexic and the mother of four young children, she wrote those early books in her kitchen on a rented typewriter. But her hard work and determination paid off. Her first manuscript, HEARTSONG, acquired by Silhouette Books in 1982, became the first category romance ever to be reviewed by the Publishers Weekly. She was soon featured in Newsweek and demand for her books quickly exceeded her wildest dreams.

Debbie is best known for her ability to create compelling characters and bring their stories to life in her books. Drawing on her own experiences and those of her family and friends, she demonstrates an almost uncanny ability to see into the souls of women and to express their emotions, values, and concerns. In every book, her sense of humor enlivens her writing.

An avid knitter, Debbie has parlayed her passion for the craft into garments for her grandchildren and bestselling books about women who knit. In her May 2007 hardcover, BACK ON BLOSSOM STREET, which debuted in the #8 slot on the New York Times bestseller list, Debbie welcomed back some familiar faces and introduced her readers to delightful new characters in the Seattle neighborhood introduced in THE SHOP ON BLOSSOM STREET. There, the author continued her moving exploration of complex relationships and the special bonds formed by a group of diverse women who meet in knitting classes and face the challenges in their lives. Her following books have continued the theme much to her fans delight!

The knit-themed books warm reception in the knitting community ultimately influenced Leisure Arts, one of the world s largest publishers and distributors of needlework, craft, decorating, entertaining, and other lifestyle interest how-to books and DVDs, to create a series of companion books offering patterns inspired by the knitting projects tackled by the characters in the Debbie s books. The KNIT ALONG WITH DEBBIE MACOMBER series currently includes:

Knit Along with Debbie Macomber The Cedar Cove Series

Knit Along with Debbie Macomber Back on Blossom Street

Knit Along with Debbie Macomber Debbie's Favorites

Fabulous Knitting Leaflet a MUST BUY with the Novel5
This Knit Along was better than I had hoped!! DON'T read the knit along or even flip through it until you have finished the novel or you may get a spoiler!! The blankets are "dedicated" to different babies related to different characters in the book.

I was bummed that I flipped ahead but still VERY HAPPY with this book. There is a Sailboat blanket in the book that is just adorable and I am going to HAVE to make it up, I have never seen one like it.

The types of the blankets are: Baby Blocks (I'll probably make this one), Cables/Lace, All Over Lace with boucle yarn, Lace Panel with sewn on border, Modified Baby Cables (no cable needle needed, I'll make this one as well), Sailboats with Cables (A DEFINITE MAKE), Lace Diamonds (Probably make), Color Ripple, Lightweight All Over Open Cable-like Texture (really cute, probably make), Brickwork style with 2 colors (DEFINITELY MAKE and in the colors shown, it is called Petit Fours, reminds you of CHOCOLATE :)), Lacy Blocks (with bulky yarn ~ I'll make this one too). I couldn't give the names of the blankets or I may give something away!!

Anyway, a great companion book, I am so very glad I bought it and can't wait to start on, at the very least, the Sailboat and Petit Fours blankets!

Enjoy!

A lovely knitting book of baby afghans4
Macomber's 11 patterns for baby afghans is lovely! The recommended yarns are easily obtainable and affordable. The variety of afghans can be for babies, toddlers and could easily be altered for adults. I gave it 4 stars because the patterns were a little difficult to follow because of the formatting on the page and the lack of charts - the one I am working on could have been easier to follow if it had a chart - I had to retype the pattern to make it easier to follow. Do not let this discourage you from purchasing the book - just an observation and recommendation for future books!

Knit Along with Debbie Macomber4
I love her knitting novels. This book with the patterns from her first knitting book is super. Some of the patterns are a little challenging for a new knitter, but there are a few that are reasonably easy. The book is in an attractive format with very nice full color pictures of the projects. There are quite a few patterns included along with some knitting instructions. This is really worth the money.
