Customer Reviews

Excellent service5
The Pergolesi is fabulous - I sang in a performance of it last term, and then heard this recording on Rob Cowan's programme on BBC Radio 3 one morning. This CD is deleted in the UK, so having spent 2 whole evenings searching for a secondhand copy for less than £40 (I couldn't even get hold of a download), I was delighted to find I could buy it new and at a fairly reasonable price from Amazon in the States. It arrived very quickly - excellent service. I haven't really got into the other two works yet.

Baroque voices - golden harmony5
Glorious vocal harmony in work by Durante, D'Astorga and Pergolesi. It was the first time I encountered these works. In addition, I was only familiar with Pergolesi from his Stabat Mater. The music and Ann Monoylos's clear soprano carries the joy of the Balthasar Neumann Choir in these passages. Thomas Hengelbrock conducts the Freiburger Barockorchester. The disc lasts 59 min. It is well recorded with a warm and immediate sound. I very much recommend it if your interest rests in vocal baroque music and choral singing overall. It is one out of 50 discs in the splendid collection of Baroque music from the Deutsche Harmonia Mundi label. Deutsche Harmonia Mundi: 50 Years (1958-2008) Don't miss that one! It is splendid and fulll of gems such as this one.

Glorious!5
I can't get enough of this recording! The voices are lovely, well-balanced and well-suited to the music.
