Amazon.com Product Description
Get serious about your cooking and your green credentials with this 10-piece set of hard anodized cookware from Earth Pan by Farberware, which features a unique, eco-friendly nonstick surface. The set includes a 1-1/2-quart saucepan with lid, 2-quart saucepan with lid, 8-inch skillet, 10-inch skillet, 3-quart saute pan with lid, and 8-quart stockpot with lid. Harder than stainless steel, the cookware's hard anodized exterior is dense, nonporous, and highly wear-resistant for extra durability and professional performance as well as quick and even heat distribution to help reduce hot spots. They also feature dual-riveted, stay-cool stainless steel handles.

The foundation of all Earth Pan cookware is the unique SandFlow nonstick coating that originates from sand--used to manufacture kitchenware like glass and silicone bakeware. Just like the nonstick pans you've used over the years, Earth Pan cookware is formulated to provide excellent food release without use of cooking oils, and the pans are easy to clean. Based on industry lab tests, SandFlow nonstick surfaces are three times more durable than ceramic-based surfaces and they require 33 percent less energy to cure than traditional nonstick pans.

The SandFlow coating does not contain PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as the brand name Teflon) or PFOA (a key processing agent in making nonstick and stain-resistant materials, including Teflon)--both of which have raised health concerns in recent years. Laboratory animals exposed to high doses of PFOA suffered cancer, low birth weight and a suppressed immune system, though PTFE-manufactured nonstick cookware is considered an insignificant exposure source of PFOA.

These pans are oven safe to 600 degrees F, and they work on all cooking surfaces, except for induction cookers. They are dishwasher safe, though handwashing is recommended to ensure longevity. Metal utensils and abrasive cleaners or brushes should be avoided. Packaging material for Earth Pan by Farberware is made from at least 50 percent recycled fiber with all materials being 100 percent recyclable.

Wonderful Product5
I've been using this product for about a month and haven't found anything I don't love about it. It is eco-friendly, it cleans up easily whether you wash it by hand or in dishwasher, and the stainless finish is really attractive. I've only used phosphate-free liquid diswasher product such as Palmolive Eco + and washing by hand any liquid product I have in stock. I had thrown out all teflon and silver brand coated products about a year ago due to possible toxins being in these products and have missed the non-stick cooking. The sandflow/ceramic coating seems really durable. I did make sure to purchase new cooking utensils (wooden spoons, high temp silicone spatula, and thongs with silicone tips.

Finish came off, residue on pans1
Purchased two skillets in December and was impressed with their non-stick glidy finish. We stir-fry veggies, meat dishes, fish, fry eggs and bacon....but 4 months later we have the finish coming off in small areas all over the bottom and sides! and residue building up that appears baked into the finish. Beware that if you use much high heat with them that this may cause the problem, but regardless, they did not last any time at all. We have had to replace them with new products. The warranty was good for 30 days - and like most warranties they outlived their return policy. I would not buy any more - because if you can't heat them to stir fry or fry eggs without these problems, they aren't worth having!

Love the savings!5
I first heard about these pans from my spouse...I then read about them and decided to give them a try.
They are unbelievable. My first use; I put in about 2 tsps of olive oil (like I did w/my old 'non-stick' pans)..well, when I was finished cooking...half the oil was still in the pan! Additionally, it seems food is finished more quickly and no doubt the heat is definitely evenly distributed, based on how the food is cooking/browning. I am saving time at the stove and on cooking oil. Not to mention, clean up is a breeze.I am still in awe and love giving a used pan a quick swipe with a soapy sponge and rinse. Now to find a larger skillet by the same people!
