Customer Reviews

Good for an extra bar, I guess4
It seems I consistently get an extra bar or two when using this with my Verizon Wireless Novatel V740 Express card on my MacBook Pro.

It's no world beater, but worth the 40 dollars when considering most alternatives cost hundreds of dollars and don't appear to be providing much better results (according to many reviews I've read on Amazon and elsewhere).

PRO:

-Cheap, in comparison to most alternatives
-More portable; again, than most alternatives. It's flat and light.
-Requires no external power source

CON:

-I'm nitpicking, here, but it's a tad bulky, and a bit of an eyesore. Breaking it out in public draws stares, and odd questions/remarks; such as:

-What's that?
-Communicating with the mothership, are we?
-TERRORIST!
-Are you stealing/sniffing Wifi?
-Does it get HBO?

OTHER:

-Using it with the V740 requires an adapter cable. I know it can be purchased from Verizon's website, but I got it elsewhere for a little cheaper. I'm assuming most Express/PCMCIA/USB data cards will require a cable adapter.

Really works well4
Adds at least 1 bar more reception to my Verizon 3g broadband usb card. I use it in my office to boost reception. Worth the money for me.
