Bliss of Xymox5
I had never heard of COX until I entered the world of 4AD and Cocteau - Dead Can Dance. Then came the non 4AD release of Twist of Shawows. I fell in love with Evelyn and Obession upon my first listen. I then started to back peddle through their back catalog and collected all their 4AD releases. A fire at my house destroyed all 4000 of my CD's so now I am collected only the disks that give me chills when I listen to them. This was one of first 10 CD's I bought, along with Live Dead Can Dance CD.

Turn off the lights, Light some candles and just listen. It's all there if you just listen

more commercial but good5
The band's 3rd album, released in 1989 signalled a change not just in sound, but in name too. Abandoning "Clan Of" to become just "Xymox" and signed to a major label, the band's musical approach became more commerical, although the core sound was still routed in darkwave territory. "Evelyn" , "Obsession" "In The City"are the 4 best tracks IMO, but also worth a mention is "Craving", which is probably the one track that is most reminiscent of their previous album, Medusa. Not the best album to start your Xymox collection with (for that, go for the self titled album , "Medusa" or "Hidden Faces or anything later"), but for fans of the band, it's a must have.

A Must5
This OH-SO Rare combination of smooth melodies, dance beats, and dreamy vocals are essential to all of us how appreciate high end music. If you want to dance great..if you just want to kick back and enjoy the sounds..well that's great too!
