Death Metal Classic
Monstrosity's first full length Imperial Doom is a classic death metal release. The line up for the album consisted of Mark Van Erp on bass (of Cynic and Solstice), Jon Rubin guitar (Malevolent Creation), Jason Gobel lead guitar (Cynic) Lee Harrison (Monstrosity, Malevolent Creation) and George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher on vocals. The line up alone is impressive. This all star line up recorded 9 tracks that absolutely crush every time. The riffs, leads, song structures, lyrics, and overall performances are incredible. This is up there with Death's Human and Pestilence's Consuming Impulse. The album is a rarity and the lineup and band went on to change, however Imperial Doom is a death metal classic that is often forgotten although it showcases some of the best talent of the time and still boasts some of the greatest death metal songs ever recorded with a brutal line up of musicians. Check out Imperial Doom, Horror Infinity, Final Cremation....a must have

Death metal with a thrash sound!!!

Monstrosity is a Chris Barnes side project. There's so many influences here like Obituary(Their thrashiest sound) and Morbid Angel among others. This is the only album in my opinion worth buying by them!!!
