EXCELLENT5
After reading about these guys in a rock/metal magazine, I decided to give this band a try. They sounded like something I'd like. So, I picked up Motograter's self-titled album a few days ago. What were the results? I was very, VERY pleased with the overall product. Not a single cent was wasted on the purchase of this exciting and thrilling album that gives you great heavy music with an edge.

What do the boys sound like? Think of Mudvayne, Slipknot, Mushroomhead, and Disturbed. That should give you a pretty good impression of their sound. Now, don't get the wrong idea and think they are rip offs of all of the bands mentioned. Not at all. In fact, I think they do a great job of constructing their own sound and look. Comparisons are always going to be made, but they show that they are able to come up with their own music that leaves a very big impression on you.

The band does a great job of balancing the yelling and singing. This is one of the great ways that they keep all of the songs fresh and avoid sounding redundant or tiring. The guitar and drum playing really stands out, too. They know when to cut back and when to go in full force. The overall product is great and heavy music.

There are actually only 11 songs on the album (I'm not sure if there's a hidden track/song, so I will have to look into that). The other half of the album are short intros to each songs. You'll notice that the intros are titled the same way as the real songs, except backwards. They give you a good lead into the songs and do not overstay their welcome. While all of the songs are great, my favorites are "suffocate," "down," "wrong," "fight," "collapse," and "prophecies." I love all of the songs, but those are the ones that stick out the most. "No name" is a great soft and mellow song that helps balances the album out. "Red" has a very big Marilyn Manson influence in it, and it works.

All in all, I think this band has very high potential. "Motograter" is a great album that offered me everything I was looking for and more. If you're looking for a hard-hitting album with some excellent music with edge, this might be the thing for you. Definitely worth checking out.

Refreshingly Original5
After seeing this band at Ozzfest in Mtn. View, California, I was convinced that purchasing their album would be a good idea. I had previously downloaded the tracks "Down" and "Suffocate" (which are both included on the album), and I was pleasantly surprised. The lead singer, Ghost, came on stage looking like Satan's stunt double, screaming like a banshee on steroids. If you're up and ready for a more than decent nu-metal album, get Motograter. My personal favorite tracks are "Down" and "Wrong". Check out Motograter at Ozzfest in your city, but in the meantime, just listen to this album... You will NOT be disappointed. Trust me.

Wade's Review of MOTOGRATER5
This is one of the best albums I have ever heard in my life. I first heard their music in late 2003 when I played NASCAR Thunder 2004. I heard this song on it and I was like, OMG, that song is awesome! The song was "Down", which in my opinion is their best song, and my favorite of all time. Then a couple months later I bought their CD at Fye for like $22. Trust me, it was well worth it. I have the CD to this day too. Not one song ever got old, especially "Down". Nearly every single one of their songs are awesome. My favorites are Collapse, Prophecies, Wrong, Red, Get Back, Mutiny, and of course the most popular, Down. The entire CD is awesome. The drummer is the best I have ever heard, the singer has an excellent voice and can sing many different tones with precision, and the guitars are perfect. I'm telling you, go find this CD at the mall soon! You will be very amazed when you see that this no-name band could possibly one of the best of all time. And PLEASE listen to the most awesome song ever, Down!! Rock on MOTOGRATER!!!
