Confused by reviews
It seems to me that every review is the same one from people thinking they know a lot about music, but are just copying everyone elses response. This cd and the last are very similar musically. This is who you are just doesn't have screaming, but that doesn't make it completely different or that the music is going downhill. I like screaming, but I also believe it is a huge crutch. If you would look deeper than the screaming, you will see that they are very similar.
so disappointing
Let me start by saying that Light a Match... is in my top 5 cds of all time. I was pumped to go get this cd, but I regret it. There are like 2 good songs on this cd. And i don't mind in the slightest that there isn't the same amount of screaming here, its just annoying music. if it was well-written and interesting emo, i would've loved it. But this is just stupid. Yes, they changed directions and have a different sound, but that's not an excuse to suck. Funeral for a friend has done it very well. I hope next time is better.
this mistake isn't really that beautiful
let me start off by saying that this album sounds very similiar to their first "light a match..." minus the screaming. i'll give to the band that they do have a distinct sound here, but i just don't know what that sound is or what they're trying to do musically. their music really confuses me, but i admit i like some of it. i think that when the beautiful mistake find the sound their looking for they will be a great band. the album would sound alot better too if they had better production i think. i'm not totally bashing this cd because it has some highlights in it, especially the song "this is who you are". that song itself is worth buying this album. if you liked their first album, you will probably enjoy this one. WARNING: they don't scream anywhere near as much as "light a match..." my suggestion is to download some of their music and go from there.
