About the Artist
" 'The Lair of the White Worm' is an album that shows a renewed band on a much higher level than the highly acclaimed 'Into the Lungs of Hell' album. The songs are more extreme in two ways; more intense melodies and more brutality at the same time. The idea of the title of the album is based on Bram Stoker's cult classic novel of the same name.

The number of guitar leads on this album has increased 300% on the previous album. This is mainly because of our new guitar player Isaac Delahaye, who lent his highly skilled techniques and feeling to the album; varying from leads that fit to the brutal songs to Arch Enemy-like melodic leads with great harmonies.

Everybody who thought the band would continue in the vein of 'Into the Lungs of Hell', and feared the band would become complacent will wake up after listening to songs such as 'Nihilism', 'The Lair of the White Worm' and 'Loyal to the Crown of God Dethroned' to name a few. Intensity and variety are the key words for God Dethroned's music into 2004" (Henri Sattler/God Dethroned)

GOD DETHRONED - The Lair of the White Worm
-
God Dethroned is yet another great melo-death band I was just introduced to. Even though the genre is getting quite filled with exceptional talent there is always room for good metal.
Using a furious assault of melodic hooks, punishing double kickers and fantastic solos... GD is easily worth mention. Musicianship is not only great but the tracks are very well composed especially at the fast pace of the album. During the nine-course meal there is barely a chance to breathe... combining equal helpings of brutality and melody...

Though nothing entirely new or groundbreaking, The Lair of the White Worm is a vicious album that fans of aggressive metal can enjoy if you like Arsis, Dark Tranquillity, or Darkane's latest albums you will likely enjoy this as well.

this is just right5
I am not gonna get into this song and that song or the guitar solo on song 3 or the drums match the bass or blah blah blah I am just gonna say this album kicks 27 forms of ass so get off the couch and buy it turn it up loud and enjoy it. I dig the lyrics and that is all I have to say. This is definitly one of the top ten of 2005.

How are these guys not more popular?????5
I am so surprised that this is not a more well known band! They deserve to be much much MUCH bigger than they are now! Very fast and technical death metal with an equal amount of melody thrown in. The solos are all over this album and are always redically new and different and original. The vocals and rhythm guitar work are all done to perfection as well. All the tracks are great, but love Rusty Nails. It reminds me of a Johan Liiva-era Arch Enemy track for some reason. Perfect for fans of bands like Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility, Divine Empire, Behemoth etc. Highly recommended to all metalheads though!
